About this listing

Our bright bachelor apartment is the perfect home away from home!

A full kitchen and lots of storage await you in this friendly family home in a great neighbourhood, with 24h public transit and several parks nearby.

The space

Newly renovated basement apartment with air conditioning and heated floors. It is small, but makes up for it with an open-concept floor plan, lots of storage space, and a full kitchen.

We are the owners of this home, so this is not a sublet, and we take full responsibility for the maintenance and upkeep.

Guest access

Your entrance is private and secured with a keyless entry system, so you are free to come and go when you please. There is also a patio in the backyard during the summer months for you to enjoy.

Interaction with guests

Our travels have been made so much better thanks to our AirBnB hosts, so we are eager to return that hospitality to our guests! Ask us anything about getting around town, where to go, what to see, and where to eat.

Beyond greeting you, and being available to help when needed, we stay out the way so that you are free to enjoy the privacy that this unit offers.

Other things to note

We live upstairs, so there is almost always someone nearby to assist you if needed.

Check In
This is actually the best place in Toronto where I lived! Clean, comfortable, to the center of the city to go 35 minutes, it is really sometimes heard a child, mostly I heard her sonorous laughter!) I really liked it))) Ricardo answered questions that I had very quickly, thank you very much Ricardo!

Had a very enjoyable 10-night stay at Ricardo's, and would gladly recommend it. Ricardo himself made the stay as easy as possible and promptly answered every question I had about both before and during our stay, and the flat itself was comfortable and well-furnished. The only points to bear in mind about it would be: - It isn't centrally located, so wouldn't suit anyone not prepared to make use of the (convenient) public transport links. - Ricardo has an active young child, and the flat (which is in the basement) is not particular well insulated, as some other reviews have mentioned. If you aren't prepared to tolerate a little noise every so often, this probably isn't the place for you. Other than these minor points, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the flat and wish Ricardo and his family all the best for the future.

We spent 9 nights in the lovely flat. Everything is was fine and the family is really nice if we had any question they answered them quickly and helped us as much they could. The only thing was it was a little bit far to the city.

It was a very nice place to stay. Just a bit far as you need the subway to get to most places in Toronto . Besides that Ricardo is fabulous host went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and even sorted out parking for us. If you dont mind commuting it's a fabulous place to stay.

The place is very welcoming and the kitchen is great! :) Ricardo was awesome and helped us with everything we needed. Sometimes there are some kids noises (normal as you are in a basement and Ricardo have the cutest kid!) but if you don't mind a little noise, as we didn't, the place is THE BEST!

My boyfriend and I stayed at Ricardo's place for eight nights and we were very impressed! Ricardo was extremely accommodating, giving us complete freedom with our check in and check out times which helped make our arrival and departure stress free. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming, coming to greet us when we arrived, but giving us complete privacy. It was great to have our own space and still know that he was available if we ever needed him. The basement guest house was exceptional. It was identical to what we had seen in the pictures. It was very clean and cozy but also fairly spacious, we quickly felt at home. Although the room did have a door to the rest of the house it was never used and it was as if we were in a completely separate place due to our private entrance. The full kitchen was great, allowing us to buy and cook meals at home and the local market was conveniently right around the corner. Also around the corner were tons of places to eat and even a laundromat just a few minutes away, allowing us to make the most out of the clothes we brought with us. We were only a two minute walk from the street-car, with plenty of activities and stores in close vicinity such as the stockyards shopping complex and a bingo hall/slots place. Overall, we loved staying at Ricardo's place and would recommend him as a host to anyone.

Hello, fellow traveller! I live in Toronto with my lovely wife and our beautiful baby girl.

I joined AirBnB when my wife and I visited Europe, and we can honestly say our travels would not have been as memorable without our amazing AirBnB hosts.

So now that we are starting a family, and I have the opportunity to be a host myself, I'm eager to share the same hospitality that we were fortunate to receive.

Looking forward to meeting you on life's journey!
