Great location, great sophistication, and great comfort for a private stay in Paris!

The apartment is a one bedroom 35 square meter space on the fourth floor without an elevator:

- with a large bed for two (190 by 140 cm) in the bedroom and
- a nice single daybed in the living room that doubles as a couch
- the apartment can comfortably sleep three people
- there is a bathroom with a shower
- the toilet is separate
- and a small kitchen with a fridge, electric tea kettle and an full oven
- there is a large flat screen TV with 600 cable channels
- wireless internet & stereo with a CD player
- there is also a landline phone with free calls to the US and all European countries
- and a library with almost a 1000 books many of which are about the history and culture of Paris and may make interesting bedtime reading even for a return visitor
- and last, but not least, a washing machine with laundry detergent provided

The guests have full use of the apartment.

The guests will be welcomed with a smile and a set of keys and the host can be contacted to give advice about tourist attractions or any other practical matters connected with a stay in Paris. I can also help carry the luggage up the stairs for the guests not used to Parisian spiral staircases.

The apartment is found on the authentic side of the Latin Quarter where the streets are full of students from the nearby universities. Many very good restaurants are to be found in the vicinity. The charming rue Mouffetard is a five minute walk from the apartment and there are many traditional shops (butchers, cheese vendors, flower shops) and restaurants. This street is a rare remnant of what Paris used to be like before the bulldozers came to rip open the boulevards and squares in the nineteenth century. The magnificent Jardin des Plantes (former Royal Botanical Garden) is a seven minute walk from the apartment, and this is a favorite place for Parisians to stroll and enjoy the refined taste that animates the French gardening tradition. The Seine is a fifteen minute walk and there are many activities along the river. You can walk to Notre Dame in 25 minutes. The Pantheon and the beautiful Luxembourg gardens are a fifteen minute walk as you go up the Montagne Saint Genvieve. Saint Genvieve is the patron saint of Paris, and being at the foot of her 'mountain' will make your stay all the more auspicious.

There are buses taking you to all corners of Paris, right in front of the front door of the building - buses 27, 47, 83, and 91- and there is the metro line 7 (station Gobelins) across the street which will take you many places because of its curvacious path. The RER B station Port Royal and Luxembourg are only a five minute bus (91) ride away. They connect you to the two major airports Orly and Charles de Gaulle as well as with the Gare du Nord from where the Eurostar takes you to London and Brussels.

Apartment is exactly as described and showed in photos! Great public transportation and nice restaurants around. Be aware that in Paris the walls are thin and you'd probably be able to hear the neighbors!

This was our second stay in Alex's apartment, so clearly we like it! The apartment is in a great location, right near a Metro station and near so many places that have delicious food (I recommend Le petit Grec for crepes...the queue will be worth it). The area feels safe and isn't touristy, so you feel like you are properly living in Paris during your stay. The apartment itself has heaps of books and art on the walls that makes it interesting and feel like a home. There's also a nice big flat screen tv in case there's any rugby you need to watch! Thanks Alex!

Excellent experience. Place is as described by the pictures. One additional benefit of the location is there is a velo (city bike) station across the street from the apartment

Axel is very helpful as a host, he will give you all the important information you will need to find his apartment. It's a great experience to stay at his apartment, I would definitely to recommend you to stay if you would like to try Parisian culture, the rooms are very nice with the family pictures, nice decorations, and you will find books everywhere, Axel really reads a lot!

Great neighborhood with reasonably priced and tasty food! Axel was a great host. There was miscommunication about getting into the apartment when we arrived, but he was easily reached by phone when we didn't have the door code or key. Very cute and charming apartment. Definitely worth it! We had a great experience here!

We were two girl friends on the short trip for four days and the Axel's appartement was absolutely right choice . In the city center, with Pariser flair , 1 min from the metro , clean and very cosy. I recommend it very much

I have proclivities for poetry, politics, and sweet pleasures of evenings; photography, philosophy, languages; cinema, art, and gardening. I also find it a thankless task to describe myself with few lines of text.

I am happy to host people in my Paris appartment and to help them with questions about their stay in Paris. I also make available my house in the magical Bay of Kotor, where guests can enjoy one of the most unique natural settings.
