This spacious room, measuring 30 sq m, is on the first floor of our guesthouse. It looks out onto the pretty village church. The warmth of the wood, the authentic charm of the vaulted ceiling and the simplicity of the decor make it a restful room.
We invite you to experience a bed-and-breakfast break in our guesthouse at the heart of a little unspoilt village in the south of France, at the foot of the Cévennes mountains. There is 4 rooms in this B&B. Childrens not allowed.
Provence and Languedoc are both on your doorstep, offering you relaxing excursions, a past packed with historical interest, and more hours of sunshine than any other part of France. It’s an ideal base from which to explore, with places such as Nîmes, Uzès, Anduze and Alès en Cévennes within easy reach, as indeed are Montpellier, Avignon and the Med.
Or why not simply decide you’re going to make the most of the luxury and tranquility of our guesthouse? Here you’ll find a spa, a sauna, terraces, a heated swimming pool and an olive grove, set amongst buildings that have stood here for centuries... you might not even want to leave the supreme comfort of your own room!
Breakfast is include in the price. Organic Columbian coffee or Mariage Frères® teas, croissants and fresh rolls, home made jams (peach, apricot, fig, cherry, strawberry, orange marmalade, ‘angel’s hair’ which is a jam made from pumpkins or squash...), eggs, fresh fruit juice... all served at a table laid with a tablecloth and artisan crockery.
Are you grumpy until you’ve had your coffee? We understand that, because so are we! A table for two means you can eat in peace without having to talk to anybody... and your smile will come back when you taste our preserves!
Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 10am. (Alternative arrangements can be made if you ask us the day before).
You can choose to dine out at one of the restaurants at Vézénobres (4km away), Alès or Uzès... (there isn’t one in Martignargues).
Our proposal is that you stay put at La Maison du Passage and enjoy a dinner for two.
Here’s the menu: a starter, a regional dish with seasonal produce or whatever catches the cook’s creative fancy, cheese and dessert (€37 per person not including drinks).
To accompany your meal, we have a selection of local wines, beer made in Uzès or Perrier water (from its source in Gard).
The only stipulation is that you must book your table the day before or when you make your reservation and turn up on time for dinner...
Our ‘table d'hôte’ is not normally available on Wednesdays. You have to see their selection of wine...
Free access to the jacuzzi, sauna and heated pool.

Interaction with guests
Hervé is the dark one – François is the one with light brown hair...
In 2007, to celebrate our ten years together, we bought a house overlooking Martignargues. At first we used to just come here at weekends, until 2010 when we moved in.
Our cats love the outdoor life.
Then in 2012, we had an opportunity to buy the adjoining house.
It was time to start making a long-held dream come true: the dream of opening a guesthouse.
You know what renovation projects are like; we planned to open at the end of Spring, and the work was completed during the winter... the following winter, that is!
It has to be said that during the journey from original aspirations to end achievement, we raised our sights considerably, but we’re proud of the results.
