The space

Listen to the quiet…

This year-round retreat is totally private with magnificent 180-degree views. A west and south-facing deck overlooks sunsets, the ocean and miles of forest. Newly built in 2011, we have furnished this cozy but contemporary 1+ bedroom, 1 bath home as a comfortable getaway. It was featured in the September 2011 Sunset Magazine.

It is located 500 feet above the valley floor, with southern exposure. Three sides of windows and decks show off a view from many vantage points. It is likely the most elegant “tree house” you have ever seen.

The Green Flash is located in Neskowin on the north/central Oregon coast, 2 hours from Portland. The cabin is set one mile north of the Neskowin village, and one mile inland, approximately 500 feet above the valley floor.

- 1 bedroom sleeps 2
- One large clawfoot bathtub with hand-held shower, overlooking miles of views
- New stove, frig, dishwasher
- Washer/dryer
- Deck on 3 sides for incredible views
- Parking for 1 car
- TV and DVD player with lots of DVD choices. No TV service. No internet other than 3G phone/Ipad. (3G works well, as does most phone servers, especially Verizon.)
- Many windows, finished pine floors, newly built in 2011
- Quiet retreat
- NO PETS, NO SMOKING
- This is one mile inland and on an old logging road. The road is easy to drive, but you cannot find it with GPS, only with my written instructions. If this sounds too remote, it is not the place for you!!! (It is NOT on Hwy 101 as the map shows. The system cannot find it due to the road actaully having no name.)

3.Keep the property and all furnishings in good order.
4.Outdoor lighting on the south side (deck area) of the cabin is prohibited.
5.Only use appliances for their intended uses.
6.Smoking is NOT allowed.
7.Pets are NOT allowed.
8.Parking: Parking is limited to 2 vehicles. Vehicles are to be parked in designated driveway parking area only. Parking on the road is not permitted. Any illegally parked cars are subject to towing; applicable fines/towing fees are the sole responsibility of the vehicle owner. The 2 vehicle policy is by Tillamook County code.
9.Housekeeping: There is no daily housekeeping service. While linens and bath towels are included in the unit, daily maid service is not included in the rental rate. We suggest you bring beach towels. We do not permit towels or linens to be taken from the home.
10. Water and Septic: The cabin is on a well and septic systems. The mineral content in the water is high. The well is 500 feet deep and very pure.
The septic system is very effective but needs to be respectfully used.

Guest access

The cabin is one mile up a one-lane gravel road, and sits high along a beautiful valley with very few residents. The one-acre lot is for guest use, and you may walk along the roads, but not into the landscape of someone else's property.

Interaction with guests

The cabin is a retreat, so you will likely not see us around. But we are very available by phone, and can come by to take care of anything you may need during your stay.

Other things to note

The driveway is sloped and gravel. A front-wheel drive car is best, but any car is fine if you are comfortable with gravel!
One more thing, it's an amazing place.

Such a beautiful retreat for our 1 year wedding anniversary! Just what we needed for a relaxing weekend away! Thank you so much, it was amazing, only downside is that we didn't want to leave after the weekend was over. Back to reality.

This cottage "tree house" is really spectacular - the view of the ocean and surrounding woods, made possible by glass windows on three sides - is amazing. The Neskowin coast area is great for hikes, time on the beach, nice dinners and quiet.

We enjoyed our stay at green flash cabin. It is off the grid in a perfect sight in the forest and the ability to view and hear the Pacific Ocean. We viewed sunset and sunrise. We could observe the moon lighting up the night and see tons of stars in the sky. The design was well thought out. The view from the bathroom is beautiful. You have the ability to observe the birds, the deer, and sky from the beautiful deck. When the night chill comes, you can still view all from inside. There are windows everywhere and it is very peaceful. As mentioned, it is off the grid and the road to the cabin can be challenging, but if you follow Stephanie's detailed instructions you will be fine. Our Dodge Challenger made it, despite a hiccup. The cabin is clean and well kept and the owners ore thoughtful and responsive.

Stephanie's cabin is absolutely stunning. Secluded and quiet with a great view. It was so easy to get out during the day to adventure up and down the coast, but we mostly enjoyed our mornings and evenings at the cabin. The stars are some of the brightest we'd ever seen. We're already looking to schedule a trip back!

The cabin was beautiful, and the views spectacular. Secluded, and not close to alot of "stuff", but the surrounding woods and beaches were breathtaking and well worth exploring. A fabulous getaway.

This was our second visit to Green Flash and we were just as impressed as the first time. It is truly a one of a kind home that words cannot accurately describe. Stephanie was amazing, quick to respond and helpful. We will be back again!

Originally a mid-westerner, Oregon has been my home for 30 years. I live in Portland and love to do all the Portland things like eating out, theater, movies! Also enjoy day hiking, biking and kayaking during the gorgeous summer and fall months. I'm currently a Principal Real Estate Broker, working under my own company Back Home Real Estate LCC. I love my dogs, a 10-pound Maltese and a large dog. I keep them quiet and always leashed!
