Located a couple of blocks from the French Quarter and a 1/2 block off of famous Frenchmen St. Where the local music flows everyday and night. Sleeps 2.

The space

If you Love Music this is the place for you !!

The Marigny neighborhood is adjacent to the French Quarter and is home to Frenchmen Street, famous for its numerous clubs and bars.

You will find upscale nightclubs, small music venues and gritty hole in the wall bars that feature a wide variety of local live music nightly. The Spotted Cat, d.b.a., Café Negril, Apple Barrel, Checkpoint Charlie, Maison, Snug Harbor and The Three Muses are all just a couple of minutes from your front porch. You will have no excuse for not enjoying the abundance of music that will be just steps from your door.

Thursday through Sunday nights you can pop in to the Frenchmen Art Market around the corner where local artists show and sell their unique productions.

When you want to get a little wild you are only a 10 minute walk to the craziness that is known as Bourbon St.

We are just 2 blocks from The French Quarter. You can easily walk to The French Market, Café Du Mond, Jackson Square, Armstrong Park etc. You can conveniently catch the streetcar to The Garden District , City Park, Audubon Zoo, Magazine St and other points of interest.

The house is a double 'shotgun'. Each side of this double has 1 bedroom and 1 bath and it's own private entrance. They can be rented separately or you can rent both sides for larger parties (if available) This side only accommodates 2 persons. Prices are for 1 side only.

Being so close to the reveling on Frenchmens Street, at times it can get a little noisy. Particularly during festivals. There is a 'pick-up' brass band that jams most every night on the corner down the street. They usually knock off before 10pm. They are really good and I find myself pulling a chair out on the front porch, making a cocktail and enjoying the sounds. Just saying, It's not crazy all night or every night but If you are seeking a tranquil and peaceful vacation this might not be the spot for you.

On the other hand if you came down to enjoy the Music, Food and Art scene this is definitely the place to be.

Our "shotgun" home has 2 large rooms + the kitchen and the bathroom. The bedroom and living rooms are 15' x 16' and have 13 ft. ceilings. There are hardwood floors and area rugs throughout the main rooms.

The 1st room, the living room, has a comfortable couch and a 42" tv for your viewing pleasure. There are 9 ft pocket doors that can be closed for privacy.

The bedroom has a queen size bed. There are many nice antique furnishings including a vintage vanity, an armoire, and a dresser to store your clothes and accessories.

The kitchen a gas stove, a full size refrigerator, a microwave, toaster, coffee maker etc.
There is also an ironing board, iron and a Wireless Internet Connection.

Clean towels and linens are provided.

Guest access

This property has 2 separate private rentals. Other than the front porch there are no common, shared areas. You will be given an entry code prior to your arrival that will be unique to you and deleted upon your departure.

Interaction with guests

My wife and I live on the property and will be your contacts during your visit. We will be available for any needs that may arise during your stay. But basically you are on your own.

The place itself is great - very spacious and a lovely house that is very New Orleans! The location is very close to Frenchmans, which is great to go out and see the big band on the corner etc. But, you may be too close to the action. The band usually finishes at 11 or so - but each night of our stay we had a DJ start playing at 1am till 2am - which even after a few drinks, made it impossible to sleep.

This listing was fantastic! The place was even more beautiful than the pictures. It was great to have a porch right in the middle of the action. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

This is a great house in an awesome location if you love music and want to be in the thick of one of the coolest, busiest neighnorhoods in New Orleans. The Marigny is where to go when you are done with Bourbon. Williams place is authentic and feels like home. We would stay again in a heart beat.

I was born in San Francisco and lived in Northern California until recently when the pull from that magnet that is New Orleans became stronger than my will and we made the big move to The Big Easy. I am a furniture maker and Music Lover. I am happily married to a fabulous chef…
