Seclusion; yet visit the quiet quaint river town Callicoon including their Sunday Farmers market; good restaurants and stores, including the employee owned coop supermarket PECKS MARKET. Hancock also has excellent fly fishing with local guides available; Trout Brook on the East Branch is 8 mins drive. Hancock has great local stores for fishing, shooting, and other outdoor activities. There is also a golf course located in Frenchs Wood, all close to the property.
You really must have a vehicle to get around. There's a lovely pond near by called Basket Pond but you must cross over private property. See maps. Very pleasant walk down Crawson Rd regardless.
Especially perfect for get aways from New York City. Approx 2hours 40mins via 17 West.

One of my favorite art museums would be Storm King Art Center about 1.5hrs north of NYC as well as Dia Beacon, also in the Hudson Valley. The Getty in LA is also totally amazing. ArtBasel in Miami Beach is something every art lover should experience.
