Baz is a friendly and welcoming host. He happily shared a meal with us. I enjoyed the detached bedroom overlooking the frog pond (ex-pool). However, Baz is a bachelor, and from a woman's perspective, his house and surroundings need a major effort to scrub clean, to repair and tidy up. In airbnb, we don't expect a five star residence, but don't stay here if you can't deal with a layer of dirt and a bathroom located far inside the house. I believe there should be some accountability to the price asked in such situations. If it were cheaper at least you wouldn't feel quite as ripped off. Sorry Baz I couldn't bring myself to stay with you again. You are a nice guy but you do not offer a quality experience for the price you are asking.

Response from Baz:
Ann was a wonderful person and no trouble at all to host. I'm glad she enjoyed her room and location. However some other areas were too rustic for her liking.

I highly recommend staying with Baz. I stayed with Baz for a few months and loved every minute. I loved his cooking. I loved the clean and secluded room. I loved his music, fish, friends, family, and more. I can't say enough good things about Baz. Book his room and experience him yourself. I highly recommend it.

Staying at Baz's was fun. He has an exceptional array of musical instruments and talent, so if you are into playing musical instruments, then this is your ideal place to be. Baz is also a delightful conversationalaist and we had many evenings chatting about any and every topic. The room is sepearate from the house by a small bridge and is very private and quiet. The water trickling into the pond is the only thing you hear.

The few days we stayed here was exactly what my man and I needed: not a 4 star hotel but def a 4 star stay! Peace, nature, good food, the option of socializing with Baz and his visiting friends and older kids and lots of excercise like walking and cycling! It is a super way to be with Australians this way! The room contains a fridge, kettle and a very comfy big bed with awesome view of the surrounding nature in privacy . The detached main house has a good hot water working shower and washing machine. Above all... it has a host who is an amazing cook and offers his meals while you have the option to cook as well, and in the evenings there is music (Dire Straits) in the kitchen and a good chat and a laugh in the house. If you are looking for a nature environment ( self sustainable lush garden and frog pool) and a rustic setting ( wooden floorboards, full glass view) then you are at the right place. It has a outdoor seating area where you can chill in the greenery near the frog pool, and ltttle to no musquito's. The city is a 20 min train ride (woodland 2 zones) and 12 min walk through greenery in the neighbourhoud. I wish we could stay longer, turns out the 32km bike ride through (URL HIDDEN) starts there and has many tea and lunch stops on the way. Also his daughter was so friendly to drop us in the John Forrest National park at 7 am ( found our way back by bus) where you can have an amazing easy 2-4 hour walk on a former trainroute and spotting wild kangaroos ( or pet the pet kanga'sin the Tavern, 5km into the trail). Baz, many thanks, you are amazinly hospitable, fun and easy going and your guestroom is uniquely earthy and very comfortable!

Baz is a fabulous host - welcoming and very helpful! his property is natural, comfortable, actually little bit messy but clean it's no problem for us. We can get a train by 15minutes walking from house and take a train to Perth city about 20-25minute. There are a lot of musical instrument. Piano, guitar, bass, drum, didjeridu,,,so on. If you love music, you must stay Baz house. I would love to go back next time we are in Perth. Thank you very much Baz.
