Location

Inverkirkaig, Scotland, United Kingdom

The Batbox is located on the owner's croft in Inverkirkaig, a lovely coastal settlement, a few miles south of Lochinver and about 40 miles north of Ullapool. This area of the magnificent North West Highlands is known as Assynt, a geographically and geologically remarkable landscape. Many of Scotland’s most individual and charismatic mountains are close by and the stunning coastline stretches north to the white sandy beaches of Achmelvich, Oldshoremore and Sandwood Bay and south to the wild, rocky coves and shell sands of Wester Ross. A multitude of trout-filled lochs cover the hinterland and the beautiful River Kirkaig, with its excellent salmon fishing and waterfall path, is only 10 minutes walk from the door. Continue beyond the falls passing Fionn Loch and eventually reach the summit of Suilven, northern Scotland’s most iconic peak. Walking, kayaking, fishing or simply relaxing, this beautiful area of Scotland has it all.

Gita (see next pic) and I live in the bungalow adjacent to Lazy Bed Cabin along with our 4 year old Border Collie - McIver. We moved to Inverkirkaig 6 years ago and absolutely love our new life here in Assynt. You will probably see us around and about working on the veggie plots, fishing in the bay or running on the 'wee' road. We are here next door for our guests if you need us, but will not disturb once we've welcomed you to Lazy Bed as your peace and privacy is important to us.

During your stay
We like to meet and greet guests on arrival, show you to the cabin then we tend not to disturb as your privacy is very important to us. We're only next door if you need us and you're very welcome.
