After 10 years living in South East Asia, we decided with my husband to come back to France and totally renovate an authentic 17th-18th C. hamlet, a former coaching inn, located near the city of Cognac, in the heart of the Grande Champagne vineyards, where the best cognacs are elaborated.
My neighbours are Cognac distillers and it is a great pleasure to ask them receive my guests for a visit of their estate and, of course, a tasting.
I have been for long a Slow Food member and my dinners are based on local products.
I also support my husband in his own business. He is a cognac guide, certified by the BNIC (National Office of Cognac). He tours the vineyard helping his guests to access hidden doors, meeting distillers with real personnalities. He organizes air balloon flights and regularly runs a Cognac masterclass. His agency is named "Cognac Tasting Tour" !...
My husband is a member of the local club "Cognac Cigare Club" but has to smoke outside of the house... Our garden in front of the hamlet is large enough for smokers.
That' to say we are involved in the local community life.
At home we have a tennis court and a swimming pool surrounded by vines, and we may help you to rent bikes for you to go through the vineyards visiting Romanesque churches in small villages nearby.
10' drive and you reach the Cognac golf course (18 holes) that was founded by Martell and Hennessy families.
In fact I have prepared a 10 pages list with what to see and what to do in my area. Until now, no one succeeded to see and do all !
Would it be you ?
