Shops, restaurants and recreation are all close but not too close. Watch wildlife through the trees from your elevated private deck and easily walk to restaurants, shops and recreation in less than 15 minutes. Relax, listen to Chicago Creek and plan your next adventure using our super fast wifi.

The space
Location is our plus. Two minute access to Interstate 70. National Scenic Highway 103 is right out your door. We have so many recreational opportunities, Echo Lake and Mount Evans are up Highway 103. The Blackhawk Casino district is a ten minute drive, rafting, zip lines, hiking, biking, sightseeing and so much more. World famous Red Rocks Amphitheater is only a twenty minute drive. We have six major ski resorts less than fifty miles away. Only a short walk or even shorter drive to Historic Idaho Springs, a mining town reborn as a vacation destination with wonderful and varied dining opportunities, shops and museums. Your room has all the amenities and very thoughtful touches. The sleeping loft has ladder access to two cots with sleeping bags. On the main floor we have one queen bed, sofa, dinette with four chairs, bath with stall shower, fully equipped kitchenette and a 4K television. We are happy to move the loft cots downstairs if you prefer. We also have a gas barbeque and outdoor cooktop available for your use just send me a message if you would like to cook outdoors.

Guest access
Our upstairs studio is a separate unit above the garage and has its own entrance and an outdoor deck that is for your use. Self check in is easy, just enter the access code into the keypad lock. Parking is available for two cars directly in front of the garage doors below your suite. The door access code is sent by AirBnB message the morning before your stay.

Our home sits on a large lot on a hillside in the Arapaho National Forest. Our back property line is the national forest boundary. Foxes, deer, squirrels, many birds and other wildlife can often be seen on our property. Chicago Creek, where the Colorado gold rush began, runs about 200 feet south of our property and joins Clear Creek about a half mile north. Historic downtown Idaho Springs is only about a half mile away and features shops restaurants and many historic buildings. Nearby Clear Creek County Recreation Center, a complete fitness center with indoor pools, is available to non residents for a small daily fee.

Lori and I retired and moved to Idaho Springs from California in 2014. We are both avid skiers and love the outdoors, for us living here is a dream come true. We remodeled the room above our garage with the goal of creating for our guests a comfortable refuge and a launch point for adventure.
