Guests have the whole top floor including a cozy bedroom & bathroom + private "gym" of a 1950's cape cod in Southwest Portland neighborhood.
The house is about two miles west of the Oregon Zoo with quick access to hwy 26 and both downtown Portland and Beaverton. The house is situated on a dead-end street under cooling cedar trees and next to a frog pond.
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING BEFORE REQUESTING ACCOMMODATION.
I have one extremely friendly micro dog (5lb yorkie) who will greet you eagerly upon your arrival, but who otherwise spends his time hanging out with me and would never attempt to climb the stairs to the guest floor. Please do not let him out the back door without checking that the gates are closed.
The guest space is on the top floor of the house and is accessed through the front door where you can go directly up the stairs to your space. Two bedrooms with a bathroom in between: one room has a bed, closet, desk etc and the other has a treadmill, yoga mats and small hand weights/weight bench.
There is a possibility to add an airmatress to the gym and accommodate up to two more people. Just ask me when you book for an extra fee per person.
Guests also have access to the fabulous kitchen and living room as well as the restful yard, deck, bbq and fire pit.
Interaction with guests
We can interact as much or as little as you like. I work from home so I can be found in my office most days and am available for recommendations or feedback.
Other things to note
To guests during the hot months: the guest floor tends to be the warmest in the house, and I have installed central air con and am working on adjusting the main level temperature to make the upper floor the most comfortable. Please provide feedback if you are too warm or cold. Window and floor fans will be provided to allow air movement. Most Portland homes do not have air con. and there are usually very few days where it's super hot as to be an issue.
Guest parking is to the left of the driveway in the gravelled, covered RV parking spot.

- If you go out one of the gates in the yard, shut it immediately to keep dog safe.
- If the dog gets you to let him out, check that both gates are shut first- he runs really fast and acts like he's escaping prison if he gets out. He loves visiting neighbors.
- Do NOT feed the dog any people food.
- No Food or drinks in the living room.
- No smoking anywhere on the property.
- Move BBQ away 5 feet away from the house before heating it.
- Use of fire pit with the screen on at all times to keep sparks contained.

Portland native who has traveled the world for her work life. I know what it's like to go from hotel to hotel and forget what your room number is that day, be grossed out by the carpets, and disappointed that the gym pictured is now a hair salon. I hope that staying here is like staying with a friend.
I love to read, garden, sew and hang out with my family and friends, many who live on the block. It's a quiet life.
