Guest access

Guests have a private room and bathroom on the upper level of the house. There is also a den with coffee, microwave, mini-fridge and TV available as mostly private space.

Interaction with guests

We are quite active and not often "hanging around" but at times we are home we are happy to interact with guests, share a drink perhaps or offer guests privacy and occasionally pass in the hallway. Our Labrador is very friendly and stays our main floor.

Kris was a great host, very responsive and kind. The accommodations were just as pictured, and Kris provided little extras that made the stay special. After a long, hot day of hiking along the Skyline Drive we came to a cool room with granola bars and bottled water. Such a nice stay, and not too far from Harrisonburg.

It doesn't get much better than this! The house is immaculately clean, the bed is so very comfortable and Kris is so very hospitable. The house is even more lovely than in pictures. Kris also adds little touches that makes the stay even more incredible. I definitely will stay here again!!

Kris was a fantastic host. She was kind, informative, and respectful. She sent us an email once we confirmed with details on how to find her house and how to check in remotely. She recommended several sights and hikes for us. She also recommended some great restaurants, which we were very happy with. Her accommodations are very clean, very neat, and pleasant. Her dog, Boomer, is the sweetest brown lab. We will definitely stay at Kris's again when we are in the area.

Kris' place isn't just a room, it's a suite. Comfortable, quiet, and impeccably clean. Kris is a thoughtful hostess who pays attention to detail. We definitely recommend staying with her and Boomer.

Kris User ProfileKris is a superhost.

I am active and love being outdoors. My outdoor sports include snowboarding, cycling, hiking / backpacking, camping and paddling. I enjoy entertaining (as I am an Events Director by profession).
My chocolate lab is often right by my side even when we visit the Farmer's market, local breweries and wineries or event a trip to Lowes. He is friendly but has had many hind leg issues and now wears special braces.

I love traveling and when able- take off on adventures.

I believe in living "young" yet responsible, being kind, and finding reasons to laugh. I am a people person and it matters to me to make friends, family and guests feel special.

I built my home with my father over the course of almost two years. He passed away when it was almost complete and so obviously my home is very special to me.
