Pococks Lodgings has hosted guests to our Elizabethan townhouse since the C17th. On the doorstep of the Thermae Spa & a minutes walk from the Roman Baths, shops & restaurants, you can live like a local with no need to bring a car.

Housed in one of Bath's oldest buildings, said to date back to 1302, the rooms have original features such as Jacobean paneling & have recently been refurbished to a high standard incl. sound proofing to ensure you have a peaceful nights sleep.

The space
The building also has a rare Jacobean lime plaster ceiling & on weekend evenings is the Budō Bā, a Japanese Izakaya and Sake Bar. This sits above the newly renovated Grapes pub which has been refreshing the drinkers of Bath since at least 1792, before which it was a wine victualers, hence the name.

Once a grand house said to have hosted the Prince of Orange and other notable guests, the building is steeped in history. You are more than welcome to take a tour of the property during your stay before heading off to other tourist hotspots such as The Royal Crescent or visiting the Royal Theatre which is just around the corner.

We live on site with our kids (though they are 18 & 20 and very well behaved) and niece, though most of the time you will have the place to yourself as we are busy running the pub.

The bedrooms are situated on the second floor and third floors with the bathroom which you have to yourself, on the third.

Guest access
Access is through a private door separate to the pub and you will get your own key so you’re free to explore the city.

Other things to note
There are some fabulous things to do just around the corner. The Theatre Royal is a great experience, as is a visit to the Thermae Spa which were happy to get you tickets for so you can jump the long queues.

If you fancy clubbing or comedy and are here at the weekend, then our neighbours at Komedia specialise in both and for a late night cocktail there is The Dark Horse just down the road. One of the 10 coolest bars in the world.

Where can I start when it comes to Bath. We live within the walls of the old Roman City and everything is just a short walk away. The Thermae Spa is a must visit, with it's roof top pool and the most amazing room with four glass steam pods offering different scents and experiences. If you fancied booking a Roman Pool to yourself, The Cross Bath is 50 metres from our back doorstep. Just let us know and we would be happy to book it for you.

The city is filled with restaurants and amazing things to do....the parks are abundant and beautiful, we have some great museums, lots of independent businesses and the shops round the corner on Milsom Street are world class.

We have a tiny little independent cinema by the back door too and we can point you in the direction of our favourite coffee shops and some amazing breakfast places where you can sit in the nearby square and soak up the atmosphere.

Having spent years as an Airbnb traveller, it's now my turn to become the host. My husband Jonny and I have just bought a wonderful Grade II* listed building, right in the heart of the old city walls in Bath which we have spent an age refurbishing to a high standard. One of the oldest buildings, with parts of it said to date back to begginning of C14th, as well as a BnB we run a bar downstairs (don't worry there is an entire floor buffering you and EVERYTHING is sound proofed, apart from city life outside) and our Living Room with it's ornate Jacobean ceiling constructed hosts a range of activities including yoga classes, workshops, tastings and on the weekends a Japanese Izakaya and Sake Bar. We look forward to welcoming you to Bath....we'll have fun!
