This experience is what the best of Airbnb is all about. Claudio was so helpful during my stay on many levels: providing me useful information (he is very organized with many reference sheets and maps), giving me some great tips to make my time in Rome pleasant, and in his concern and support during some rough weather that I experienced on my last day. He has made everything a breeze at this home. As for the home, it was very attractive and clean. It had everything I needed for a good stay! The location was perfect for me... not too far from Fiumicino and in a real neighborhood, which I liked. I didn't go into Rome but it'd be easy to do that with a car by going to the train station. I went to the beach at Ostia one night. Overall highly recommended!

Because of very good comments we had high expectations. And these expectations were met definitely. Flat is very nice and perfect for 3 persons. PLocation is perfect to enjoy beach as well as Rome. Trip to Rome by train is only 30min and 1,5€ per person. A lot of info about all you need was avaiable in the house. Additionally Claudio and his family was available for any kind of questions. Special thanks for your special support (especially to Luciano).

Claudio’s place, Ostia Antica, Rome, Italy You travel to Ostia Antica (‘Old Ostia’) for the pleasure of exploring this captive little historical town on the edge of urban Rome – an icon of a hidden community – ancient Roman port/scarvi, medieval village and the 19th century ‘modern’ town. This is where you bike to (or take the car) of an early morning or late evening to take in, respectively, the early-birders at their pavement cafés around the main piazza (Gregoriopoli) and the Giardino Filippo Latia, and/or the romantic by-lanes of the 15th century borgo. Better still, eat a meal in one of the three restaurants within the borgo one evening. Whether you have a car or not, the best way into Rome is by train – the Lido-Piramide train is a 20 minutes €1.5/ticket ride into town. Change to Metro B at Piramide – same ticket. The station has a car park (gratis). It’s a 25-minutes walk from Claudio’s, but he also has a handful of beaten up bikes that you can borrow – take the locks offered too; lock up the bikes. Take your bikes over the footbridge. We’ve known Rome for many years and Ostia Antica is just about the nicest traditional place this close into the city. No, really. It helps having such a pleasant and helpful ‘mine host’ too. Claudio comes highly recommended – English speaking, willing to provide a FCO pickup and drop-off, and to advise and help. (You may need to negotiate the airport run with him – but a local taxi one way is around €25 – be firm on this one; always negotiate). We had our own car, so transport was not an issue. Claudio offered an inside parking space too – next to the apartment. The road outside is OK however – but competitive for space. You’d need to walk a few metres when parking. There’s an easy single-key entry to the main gate. The Airbnb apartment is sandwiched between Claudio’s at one end and his sister’s place at the other – three in a row, and three-next door (in a sort of quadrifamiliare – except there are six places, not four). The place is small – mansarda bedroom (for 2) and living room-cum-kitchenette on the ground floor. Separate bathroom here too. The sheltered sitting out area is small – the entranceway into the apartment, but you can also sit out in the driveway (where the car is parked). In summer both places are exposed to the afternoon sun – so, hot. Of a morning, however, the sheltered area is a great place for breakfast al fresco – for two. View over the farmland behind the houses and the empty block of land next door. Quiet. Furnishings, décor, interior space and facilities are all good. Air/con on both floors – same with television; no satellite reception - local stations only. Wifi worked well. Dedicated w/machine. Downsides? Well, for two people there are none. You can sleep a couple of kids on...

If there was an award for the best host ever , Claudio deserves it. An excellent communicator, he prepared guide books and real time help as needed. He is an outstanding host and his family assisted when he couldn't. The apartment is fantastic, so close to the airport and Ostia Antica, above our expectations for quality. Stay here if you are going to Rome but don't want to stay IN Rome.

Claudio is a wonderful host. The house is clean and very safe. It's a very good place to stay if you like it being quiet at night and want a short visit to Rome.

Claudio is a really gracious host. He was very accommodating. Very knowledgeable. He stayed up late because we had a late check-in. He gave us maps and detailed instructions on how to get around Ostia Antica and Roma. He also told us about the tourist attractions and archaeological sites around the area. He provided us metro tickets for our first trip(we have to replace it for the next guests...great idea) and bikes to get around. The house is really nice and had everything for our stay. The place is roughly 10 minute drive to the FCO airport and the closest supermarket is about 12 minute walk. The beach is about 15-20 minute bus + metro ride. No regrets booking his place. Definitely recommended.
