My family and I and some friends (there were 10 of us in all) have just spent a wonderful week in this beautiful house. Everything was perfect from the day we arrived - arrival/opening up arrangements were very straightforward. The situation is stunning. Complete tranquility. Infinity pool was fabulous. We enjoyed meals on the terrace . There was everything we needed in the kitchen. Beds were all very comfortable with new linen and the bathrooms were new and very clean. I would definitely recommend. Before we arrived Thierry responded extremely quickly to any queries I had.

We travelled to Thierry's house as a party of 8 (4 adults and 4 small children). The house is stunning, tastefully decorated, and perfectly safe with small children (enclosed pool area with alarm). Unfortunately what would have been a lovely stay was dampened by a highly upsetting check out process. Whilst the check in only lasted a few minutes with only a few verbal guidelines given (the person greeting us was getting married that day, as such we were sent to the supermarket on arrival even though we had 4 small children who were exhausted - only to be told to rush back) the check out took nearly an hour and a half. This involved the housekeeper taking us through each and every room and aggressively accusing us of having not cleaned to a high enough standard (damp bathroom) or damaging the furniture (a few small drops of wax on the garden table). We had left a stack of clean unused baby nappies in a room and a half dozen of empty bottles, next to the bins, for disposal. Apparently this was totally unacceptable and we were accused of having left the place "strewn with nappies and empty beer bottles". As we were finally given permission to leave, the housekeeper ordered us to take our bin bag with us (the trash has to be taken by car to a disposal unit at the end of the road) adding that this was not his responsibility (apparently taking the day'so trash out is not included in the cleaning fee) as he was not our "boy" or our "dog". There were also very minimal supplies when we arrived (no toilet paper, bin bags etc). All in all, a lovely house and as far as communication went with him, a lovely owner, but the downright abusive treatment we received by the housekeeper means we will not be back.

This house is a hidden treasure among the southern French country side. It might not be so easy to find unless you have a GPS, and put in Bencharel 24110. All rooms are properly furnished as a country resort with fully equipped kitchen. The patio and the pool terrace offer splendid view of the valley, and it is such a pleasure to dine there enjoying the wonderful country life.

We stayed with two families (4 adults and 5 children) a week in the villa of Thierry and Isabelle. From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we felt privileged to use the house and pool. The villa is situated on top of a hill at the end of a dead-end lane, amazing views and privacy are guaranteed. The house is beautifully renovated and very tastefully decorated. The quality of the furniture (including beds) is very high. It felt as if everything was brand new. The living room is huge and became the hot spot for the children when they want to play (loom) inside. The kitchen with the attached veranda was the perfect place for pleasant (outdoor) eating. One part of the veranda is covered by a roof, the other part is in the open air, so that you could choose to eat in the sun or shade. The pool is perfect for allday swimming, the pool side is fantastic for enjoying the sun and a glass of wine. From the veranda and the pool side you can admire beautiful views from the hill. The furnishing of the 7 sleeping rooms is elegant and of good quality. The five bathrooms (and the good water system) provide privacy and luxury for all the guests. Maurice and his wife, friends of Thierry, acted as the hosts for us. He welcomed us, showed us around and was available for any mather. He checked and cleaned the pool twice during the week and did the check-out. Despite his poor English you could easily communicate with him with some basic French. The villa was a perfect place for us to explore the Dordogne. We loved to stay here in summertime and imagined us staying here in the future and in other seasons.
