Historic South Park guesthouse. Built as the center of 3 sisters, this 1920 shotgun cottage and its neighbor to the right were bought by me, a neighborhood activist, who stripped them both down to the studs.
What you'll find is a mix of historic, modern, and mid-century modern, with vaulted ceilings with skylights in both the bedroom and the spacious bathroom, and safe, snug, and quiet thanks to the insulation, new windows, new doors, and Berber carpet. Owned by a Certified Service Disabled Vet.

The space
You'll find the modern kitchen fully stocked with all the tools you'll need; toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, microwave, blender, mini-food processor. There are basic ingredients, salt and pepper, olive oil, and baking supplies, dishes. *
The furniture was my parents- Mid century modern, we've got chess, kahla, scrabble, and of course, 2 smart TVs- one via a TIVO box. No cable, but over the air, and access to whatever service you subscribe to.
There is a monochrome printer on the desk for you to use. If you need color printing, or a conference room for up to 6 with projector etc- we have those at my office 5 houses down the street. We can accept packages for your conferences, etc. at my office.
I'm working on prints for the walls. Soon!
*note - this is a 100 year old home. Despite the huge feral cat population in South Park, on occasion, mice enter the home. We have traps if needed.
Guests bring ingredients, salad dressings, etc- and leave them. I choose not to throw perfectly good stuff out. If you don't want to use it- don't.
If there is an issue with cleanliness- contact me through the AirBnB app- and I will come clean (I'm on the street most of the time). Note, I can't inspect every utensil for water stains- etc. The kitchen was a working kitchen for years- and the tools and pans are my mother's. The microwave is older- some stains on some things don't come off. The counter has burn spots from my mom's last days in the home with her dementia. All kitchen extras are provided for your convenience and not as part of your contractual relation with AirBnB or me. This disclaimer was added after someone called the kitchen "Grimey" after all the others had given us outstanding marks for cleanliness. Outdated mustard isn't reason to cancel your stay.

Where you’ll be

Dayton, Ohio, United States

I moved to South Park in 1986. I've been neighborhood president and very active in the neighborhood organization. It's an AWESOME neighborhood "where neighbors become friends." Our epic progressive parties in the summer and special events year 'round keep us all working together. You can walk to so many incredible places. Super close to both Miami Valley Hospital and the University of Dayton as well as Historic Woodland Cemetery. The Oregon District and downtown are just a bit further walk. We have great local pizza, coffee, and bars and brew pubs - all within 4-5 blocks of where you'll be staying.
This is still a gentrifying neighborhood- and we do have people walking through the neighborhood that may be less fortunate. I highly recommend always locking your vehicle and never leaving anything of value in it- or visible. The security cameras cover the street in front- but- don't really stop people from checking for unlocked cars in the wee hours.

During your stay

I live across the street and my office is on the corner of the block. I'm always around, but you shouldn't have to meet me unless you really want to. I have a Schlage smart lock on the front door- you'll get instructions for using it the night before check in.
