We welcome you to relax and enjoy our unique home located in the heart of El Paredon village, minutes walk to the beach, and the mangroves of Sipcate-Naranajo National Park. It is close to all amenities and lots of excellent street food. As tourism in El Paredon has exploded in the last few years, the village retains much of its original character and community, and we invite you to enjoy and immerse yourself in its authenticity.

The space
Our home for many years, designed to create a homely and open living space with emphasis on outdoing living and nature. The property consists of 2 private cabañas built in traditional Guatemalan style of wood construction and palm roof. Both cabañas are available to rent. The private cabaña available in this listing, *recently updated January 2024*, consists of an airy room that opens onto a large private covered outdoor terrace which overlooks a mature tropical garden. The cabaña features a double bed and on-suite toilet and is equipped with mosquito net, shelving & storage space, fan and fridge with freezer. Your large private outdoor terrace has both table and chairs, and a hammock. There is access to a shared fully equipped kitchen and a shared shower area which are located in a separate building. We encourage all guests to use and enjoy the garden.

A traditional Guatemalan beach town, that has undergone considerably development in the past few years. However, the center of the village, where are home is located, has remained relatively unchanged. You can expect a more authentic experience of Guatemalan village life.

Since our home is located in the village, and we live in close proximity to our neighbours, you will experience noise commonly associated with daily village life.

The area provides great surf with consistent beach break. Opportunities for beginners to take lessons/hire surf boards. In addition to the beach there is a beautiful mangrove ecosystem, perfect for exploring by stand-up paddle boards or boat.

Myself, my husband Charles, and daughter Mira, made El Paredon our home for many years, enjoying the community and tranquility. Sadly, with our daughter attending school full time we only get to visit on vacation, and so we have made our home available for rental so visitors can enjoy a little of what we love so much.
