Our home is a mid-century-modern 2-bed/1.5-bath as centrally located as it gets: 2 miles to Churchill Downs, 2 miles to downtown and NuLu, 2 miles to Germantown, 3 miles to the Highlands and Bardstown Road.

Nearby hotspots include 610 Magnolia and the Old Louisville Brewery – each less than a block away. There are several other pubs-with-grub in walking distance, as well as a quickie-mart. Walk to campus for coffee and casual chain restaurants.

The space

The Magnolia Estate sits on Central Park, on the same block as St. James and Belgravia courts, in beautiful and historic Old Louisville. While the surrounding mansions were built in the late 1800s, this house was built as an artist's studio in 1940. It was recently awarded one of the Top Ten Preservation Successes in Louisville – truly a unique space!

The entire house is yours, including a walled-courtyard, a backyard with a privacy fence, and a one-car garage with a code-pad for keyless entry. Free street parking is also available.

We have a California-king Tempurpedic mattress in the master and a queen pillowtop in the guest bedroom. We also own a queen air mattress that can be setup in the office.

Other things to note

Booking includes fresh linens and towels, toiletries, wifi, coffee, breakfast treats, and a bottle of good Kentucky bourbon.

Kyle and Chelsey's place was perfect for Derby weekend. We were not there much but well designed, super comfortable and convenient. Loved walking in the beautiful old neighborhood.

Our stay was great and Kyle and Chelsey were very accommodating with our schedule. I would recommend staying here to anyone! The home was gorgeous, decor was adorable, and the large window in the bedroom suite, I was in love!

Kyle and Chelsey were excellent hosts! They have a very beautiful, unique home that accommodated us perfectly and the complimentary bottle of bourbon was icing on the cake! (Great choice of bourbon too I might add)

Chelsey and Kyle went above and beyond to make our Derby experience amazing! The house was beautifully decorated, clean and so charming. They even left chocolates on the beds, put toiletries in the bathrooms, stocked the fridge with breakfast items, and left us a bottle of bourbon. The house comfortably fit a group of eight and was within walking distance to Churchill Downs-- or a cheap Lyft ride away from anywhere in the city. Prior to our arrival, Chelsey gave us a ton of recommendations for restaurants and neighborhoods to visit during our stay. We had a great experience and would recommend the house to anyone visiting Louisville.

What's not to love about Louisville? Two transplants from Florida missing the beach but drinking lots of bourbon to make up for it.
