The day before we arrived, we had to go the the hospital, as our 8 month old baby was very sick w a respiratory infection. We ended up having to be airlifted to Santiago a day later. The reason I write this for my review is that Javiera was absolutely amazing in helping us in a very stressful situation. She helped with translation needs and sent a friend to our hospital to help, made us amazing food for the hospital that really lifted our spirits and starving stomachs, and transported a crib we left behind; she truly went above and beyond a B&B host. We are indebted to her kindness. As for the place, we spent little time there, but fully expect to come back as the land is absurdly beautiful, the views breathtaking, and the cozy, fire warmed cabins oozed a true Chilean experience.

The cabin was overpriced for the value we received. The beach was dark and very small and not really a beach to walk on or sun on. Bordemundo is NOT dog friendly. The amenities linens and towels are not hotel quality. they were store towels, stained and frayed. There were no miniature soaps or shampoos but only a community dispenser, very unsanitary. The host saw us once and after that texted us with her complaints and texted us to leave the key in the door. Very unprofessional.

Response from Javiera:
We received Suzzanne and her two dogs with open arms. We found ourselves with a pet owner who would abandon her pets all day without any food or water that would deficate and urinate throughout cabin. I personally took the time to go clean up after them and pat them while she was gone. Not once did she say thank you or at least that she was sorry for the mess. She would never talk to us or open the door when we would come by that is why we had to text her to to communicate with her. Her dogs soiling the bed, is not only disrespectful to us and our love and dedication, but also to our other guests who will stay with us in the future. We asked Suzanne to please pay for the damaged item and we got a really aggressive response. We were threatened with a law suit, and even got very discriminatory comments about Chileans. - We have never pretended to be a hotel nor do we charge hotel rates (plus she would have never been allowed to bring her two dogs) - We do make efforts to have quality 200 thread sheets, nice towels, feather bedspreads - which we had to throw away after this guest. - As we are eco friendly we are against excessive packaging amenities, so we provide shampoo and soap in dispensers, plus a locally hand made soap. - If we are away running errands we ask our guests to leave us the keys, in case we are not around which was never a problem before. - We are prohibited to put any lighting up on the beach wich is 1 km long, as wild life would be affected by this and it is public property. Unfortunately this review is a lash out attempt. I hope our future guests are able to see through this behaviour, which doesn’t reflect at all what Bordemundo is about.

Beautiful location, very cosy, rustic, and comfortable cabin, and an amazing host to boot! Apart from the greet views and relaxing farm-like location, Javiera showed us around the animals and gardens, and even brought some tea and honey when I wasn't feeling well. Definitely stay here.

An amazing view of Volcano Osorno. A beautiful land with animals that is secluded, quiet but close to everything by car. An honest, friendly host who gave us many suggestions of what to do. Javiera offered to help with many things and went the extra mile with fresh bread and eggs! The cabin is basic but has everything you need to live their for a long time and enjoy yourself!

Javiera is an amazing host. She's incredibly friendly, welcoming, and generous. Communication was a breeze and she went above and beyond to make sure our stay was great. She offered great suggestions for things to do and places to eat, and made us a killer seafood paella one night. Breakfast was delicious (and plentiful!). A lot of the food came directly from her gardens, eggs from her chickens, and juice/jams from the fruit trees on the property. The two cabins with a volcano view feel incredibly cozy and have a great view of the lake and volcano from the living room and bedrooms. Javiera stops by at night to start a fire in the wood burning stove, which makes the entire cabin feel so cozy. There's a great menagerie of friendly animals, most of which look like they should be in the movies. The location was a quick drive into Puerto Varas and was perfect for us since we wanted something easily accessible to town but a little more relaxed. Cabins were very clean, bathroom is small but has piping hot showers, and the kitchen had all the basics, including a handful of spices for cooking. Reading the reviews before we booked, we expected the place and Javiera to be nice, but she still went above and beyond our expectations. Wonderful host, great location, and highly recommended!

Cannot say enough good things about this place. My mother and I just spent four days in one of Javiera's cabins, and had a fantastic time. Our cabin was clean and cozy, and had a great view of the Osorno volcano. The grounds are also home to sheep, chickens, dogs, peacocks, and a beautiful beach (the last stairs down are quite steep). The real gem is Javiera herself, who might be on your doorstep in the morning with your breakfast in a basket, or swinging by in the evening to get a fire going in the woodstove, but always makes you feel very welcome.

After a long time running a B&B in Venice, living in Berlin and traveling Europe I am happy to be home again. Opening a Bed and Breakfast in Patagonia has always been my dream. I knew the perfect place was in the South of Chile. I love Nature and animals, and think that everyday is a blessing, specially with this view! i look forward meeting new people and making new friends, that's why being a host is so rewarding to me. I put my heart in my land and hope to share it with the world.
My personal interests are Music, Languages,Traveling, Gardening, Permaculture and Cooking, by the way, i'm a former Chef, therefore i put all my skills on the breakfast to pamper my guests. I always use fresh homemade products as well as organic ones.
