The space
Welcome to the Birdhouse! This studio apartment has a plush king sized bed, perfectly positioned for mountain viewing. Extra down comforters and soft blankets are provided.
Climb the north facing staircase, walk through the private entrance and melt into the serenity of Crestone.
The kitchen is stocked with cooking basics: salt/pepper, condiments, tea/coffee, dishes, flatware, electric kettle, french press, pots/pans, microwave, mini fridge/freezer with ice trays, towels/paper towels, soap, and brand new 4 burner stove with mini-oven.
Sink into the comfy sofa, gaze at the mountains and wildlife around you, watch TV (Amazon Firestick supporting Netflix and other streaming apps) or use the Wifi to work remotely. The bathroom is filled with plenty of fluffy towels and has a full shower, sink, vanity, and toilet. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, lotion and plenty of soft toilet paper is provided.
There's an on-demand heating unit with a thermostat you can adjust to stay warm during winter months. During summer months, we provide a portable AC unit.
Additional Notes: The hot water tank is small, so please limit your showers to 15 minutes or less. There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal. Please bag up your trash before you leave. This space is limited to 2 people. There is only one bed to sleep in, so it's best suited for singles, couples, or couples who don't mind sharing a bed.
Our cleaning crew wipes down all surfaces and follows strict cleaning guidelines, however, this is the wilderness, so there's some dust due to dirt roads and insects due to nature.
Plenty of parking is available. This is a shared parking area with the main home (called the 'Carefree House'), which is also an AirBnB listing and located on the same property as the apartment. The Birdhouse has its own private entrance and is a completely separate building from the Carefree House.
Tobacco & drug free apartment. No smoking or vaping inside the apartment. There's plenty of space outside to enjoy whatever you may partake in.
TRAVELER'S INSURANCE & CANCELLATION POLICY
We know life happens and you'd rather be on vacation than dealing with illness or emergencies. This is why we highly recommended that you purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance in case of illness/family emergencies/bad weather delays, flight/rental car cancellations, unexpected emergencies, snow/ice, Covid-19 bans/restrictions, etc.
If for any reason you cannot make the trip and are out of the refund window, please seek reimbursement through your travel insurance.
Please thoroughly read our cancellation policy and understand that we are not able to offer refunds outside of this policy. Your credit card may offer travel insurance and there are many options to acquire travel insurance via an internet search.
Guest access
The parking area is shared with another listing on Airbnb called 'The Carefree House" (separate structure, separate entrance). Please park your vehicle in front of the garage door (faded green door), next to the small garage door, by the stairs to the apartment or help yourself to the parking spots by the trees, facing east (mountains), if they are available.
It is SANDY near the entrance to the Birdhouse and behind the property. Four wheel drive is recommended if you drive around the building.
