Peace and quiet

Some info has been automatically translated.
The Poplars is a detached, fully equipped bungalow, set well back from the quiet B9090 road from Nairn to Cawdor. It looks out on to a front garden and farmland beyond that. There are three bedrooms, one en suite. The ensuite room has two single beds, but can be configured as a superking "zip and link" bed if required. The house can sleep 5 or 6 - but remember that one is a double bed! It may be possible to provide a child's cot - but please ask first. Privacy, with plenty parking space.

The space
There is a pavement along the road outside, leading to Nairn, and there are walks along the riverside and the beach / harbour areas. The spacious conservatory is an ideal place to relax most of the year, providing there's just a little sunshine! The house is located about one mile from Nairn railway station and the High Street with its shops and eating places, and about 2 miles from the beaches and harbour. We are also 4 miles from the famous Cawdor Castle & Gardens, 10 miles from Inverness airport and 15 miles from Inverness city. We may be able to arrange connections to / from airport, bus and train stations if requested.

Guest access
Guests have access to the entire house and front garden, with a shared driveway.

Other things to note
The house is well-insulated and cosy, but in winter the conservatory becomes quite cold, and the connecting door to the living room should be kept closed. We normally leave the conservatory heating on at a low level, but if guests wish to use extra heating in the conservatory we reserve the right to charge for supplementary heating. Normal winter electricity consumption is less than 35kWh per day, but if guests use more than 40kWh per day we will charge 15 pence per kWh for the extra use above 40kWh. The meter will be read with the guest on arrival and departure during winter months.

Neighbourhood highlights

The house is located just at the end of the 30mph speed limit for the town on the B9090. It's a short 5 minute walk to Firhall Village development, a 2 minute drive to the Hospital and nearby Whinnieknowe and St Olaf / The Manor care homes. The house shares a driveway with 2 other properties on the 2-acre site, but has no passing vehicles, and no noise! It's surrounded by poplar trees, with owls at night, and frequent visits by pheasants during the day. Over the years we've seen roe deer, foxes, badgers and hedgehogs in the garden - though there's no guarantee of seeing these! In the adjacent field, a beekeeper looks after a dozen or more bee hives! Keen gardeners may be interested in some of the more unusual plants in the garden or the owners' garden next door.
