Over 80% of Vermonters have been vaccinated so all COVID restrictions have been lifted!! We are the first state to SAFELY do so. So welcome to our beautiful state.

GBF is a working diversified farm at the end of a dirt road in Northern Vermont. We have beautiful gardens, a 200 acre woods (with trails) and many farm animals for you to visit.
It is peaceful and quiet here. We have only 2 neighbors and they are family. The cottage is next door, but you will have plenty of privacy.

The space
Our cottage is private and quiet. We strive for cozy, rustic elegance with a comfy queen bed and top quality bed and bath linens. We also have a foldout cot available for an extra guest (Like an older child or non- coupled pair ) for an additional charge.
We have stocked the kitchen with everything you might need to cook a fine meal. You'll find all the common condiments and necessities and some extras like honey and real maple syrup, quality teas, whole bean Vermont roasted coffee (and grinder), our milk, cream and eggs in the fridge. In season, there are veggies from our garden. You can add to the larder by purchasing pork, beef, chicken or duck raised here on the farm. Want to eat out? Stowe, with its many fine restaurants, is half an hour down the road. Also there are several good restaurants in Morrisville. And, of course, there are more craft breweries within the area than you can shake a stick at. You can definitely eat and imbibe well here.

There are plenty of opportunities for recreation. Hiking (or just walking), paddling, swimming snowshoeing and Alpine/Cross Country sking are close by. Or, if you prefer, just sit on the back porch swing and watch the horses graze. Visit with the many farm animals including ducks, chickens, geese, alpacas, cattle, horses and pigs. At night, you can sit around the fire pit in front of the cottage. If the weather is dreary, there is Roku with all the major channels (including the premium channels) on the bedroom TV. There is also a small but interesting library.

Be busy or do nothing. It's up to you. Either way, we welcome you to a quiet, relaxing visit at our farm where the world won't bother you for a while.

My husband, George and I live on a 50 acre farm in northern Vermont where we raise a wide variety of poultry from chickens to geese, and a small herd of alpacas, horses, cows and pigs. We have a large, close-knit family who either live here on the farm or near by. When we all get together, a common occurrence, there will be at least 20, if not more, of us at the table. We are semi-retired now (George was a builder and I doctor), but with much help from the family, we still run the farm and "Up Town Christmas Trees", the second largest Christmas Tree retail business in Manhattan. We like to think of ourselves as merchants of joy and Harlem, where we are based, as our second home. We invite you to spend some time with us on our homestead. We think it will be an experience you will remember for a long time. Maybe you'll even stop by to see us in Manhattan.

During your stay

We live right next door so we are available to help out anyway we can. We are a large, happy family and often gather together for meals. It is not uncommon for guests to join us around the fire on the front patio at night or even at our table. It is also common for guests to want their privacy. We'll follow your lead. You have you own porch and fire pit.
