Exceptional check-in experience

Recent guests gave the check-in process a 5-star rating.
Old Rowallan Castle dates from the 12th Century and has been lovingly restored.
Nestled in the centre of Rowallan Estate, it is the ancestral home of the Mures & Campbells. It is a highly unique space and acknowledged as the finest specimen of Renaissance Castle Architecture - still boasting original features.
With a 19 hole Championship Golf Course designed by Ryder Cup winning Captain Colin Montgomerie on its door step and the much acclaimed Glasshouse Restaurant only a short walk away.

The space
This is an unique opportunity to be King or Queen of your own castle! We have four large bedrooms, three with superking beds and one double bed, with the two superkings able to be changed to twins if required. All the beds are made up with 500tc Egyptian cotton. Luxurious bathrobes and Arran Aromatic toiletries are provided for the use of guests. Two of the bedrooms are ensuite, whilst two share a spacious bathroom.
There is a well equipped kitchen with a large table and chairs, seating 10, and a small dishwasher. Space does not permit a washer/dryer, but we can provide a laundry service for a small fee, please enquire on check-in. We also have a grand dining room for more formal occasions, and if wished our chefs can cater for you, with advance warning! Our top gallery provides the perfect setting to relax after a day either exploring the surrounding area or out on the course. Equipped with a 55 inch TV, luxurious sofas, 6 foot pool table, card table with numerous games & several musical instruments; there is plenty available for an evenings entertainment. As it is a 12th Century listed building, the stairs may be uneven in places and some door frames are lower, so beware of bumping your head!

Guest access
The castle is entirely private so all rooms can be used exclusively by guests. Unfortunately, the Castle is not suitable for wheelchair access.

When you arrive on the Estate, please drive past the castle on your left, and you will come to the Glasshouse Restaurant/Golf Club where you will be met and taken down and shown around!

Other things to note
For golf enthusiasts, we have a 19 hole Championship golf course and the 9 hole Castle Course, with the Clubhouse being a short walk from the castle - tee times can be arranged prior to check-in with one complimentary four ball included in your stay, thereafter special “Castle Rates” are available. The award winning Glasshouse Restaurant is located here and is open every day for breakfast and lunch and guests receive a 10% discount on their bill! Please note, the Glasshouse is open for dinner Friday, Saturday and Sunday only. There is also the option to arrange for catering to be provided in the castle by our renowned team of chefs.
We can also arrange Whisky & Wine Tastings, and Clay Pigeon Shooting on the Estate.
