The space

Welcome to my gorgeous one bed miner's cottage. Set in the heart of Snowdonia it has views across Angelsey and the Irish Sea.

The inside is deceptively spacious, and is ideal for a couple or small family who want to get away from it all.

Recently rebuilt 8 years ago to a high standard this cottage features all mod cons, double glazing, full central heating, and unlike most stone Welsh cottages in the area it's warm, light, and dry!
The lounge and kitchen are open plan, with a raised ceiling into the roofline. The main feature of the lounge is the original stone fireplace that defines that cottage feel. A fully equipped kitchen with double electric oven, hob, fridge and Microwave. The bedroom and bathroom are entered from an adjoining doorway.
The bedroom has a double bed, a wardrobe and cupboards for your use.
The bathroom has a shower/bath combination.
The front of the house overlooks miles of open countryside and villages, all the way across to Hollyhead on Angelsey some 25 miles away. The Irish Sea can be seen from the bench seat in the front garden. `
To the rear of the property is a small shed where guests can store their bikes and on the flat roof there is a large decked area for enjoying the sunshine.

Easy road side parking to the front of the property, a key will be inside a keysafe near the front door.

I often work away so it would be unusual to see me, but my friendly neighbours will be able to help with any enquires. I am often in the area at weekends.
Fell free to contact me at any time with any questions, and I'll be more than happy to help.

Being set in Snowdonia it has so much to offer the visitor.
The house itself is set high on a hill side. Simply standing outside gives you amazing views, the sun sets in front of the house in the summer months so it's not unusual to see all the neighbours sat outside in the evening, with a bbq and a drink.
Walking out of the front door brings you immediately into the mountains. You are spoilt for choice for things to do, walking, climbing, mountain biking, fishing, photography, great places to eat, the list goes on and on.
Nearby attractions are the Dinorwic Slate Quarries, these were at one time one of the largest quarries in the world, these are just a mile away, great for walking, biking and exploration.
The nearby village of Llanberis is a mecca for walkers and climbers alike, with easy access to Snowdon and it's Mountain Railway, and also from there into the famous Lllanberis Pass and Ogwen Valleys. Zip World, is a few minutes drive away, this is the longest zip wire in the Northern Hemisphere and is over a mile long.
Then there is Angelsey, with it's stunning scenery and attractions there is plenty for everyone, it's beaches are exceptional.

Easy access by car to all areas, walking and cycling is a pleasure from here too.
Buses run from outside the house to Bangor and Caernarfon, but having a car would make for an easier trip.

A the cottage is in Snowdonia, the mountains are in close proximity to the sea so the weather here has it's own micro climate. Always be prepared for every weather and you'll be fine.

Check in time is 4.00 PM and check out is 12.00 AM.
My neighbours are all friendly and my friends so please bear that in mind.
Ideally it is suited to a couple, but I'm more than happy to have a small family here. Cots etc would need to be provided by yourselves though.
Whilst i am happy to have dogs they are not allowed on the sofa or the bed.
Also note that the cottage is set in working countryside so sheep and other animals wander freely everywhere. It is your responsibility to keep your dog under control and must not be allowed to freely to chase any animals.

Really good place to stay in snowdonia! Up on the hillside opposite Snowdon. Cottage had just the right amount of space for the two of us plus our dog. It rained for our entire stay meaning we only ventured up to the decking for a quick look rather than getting to fully enjoy it. Location is great for enjoying North Wales. We mostly visited the nearby castles and waterfalls due to the weather we never made it to the top of Snowdon. Only downside was the sofa is getting a bit old now so was not very comfy! However, we spent so much time walking with the dog we tended to go to bed not long after dinner anyway.

Gorgeous cosy cottage perfect for a couple's getaway. The location is fantastic, offering amazing views as soon as you step out of the cottage. Easy to get to shops and amenities and there are endless opportunities for those that love to walk/hike/climb in the surrounding area. Inside the cottage is very cosy and we loved the wood burning fire. Perfect sized kitchen with everything you need if you want to cook. The bed was very comfy and enjoyed taking a hot bath after a long day of walking. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Johns cottage is a beutiful cottage with modern interior. The views are amazing and its a perfect cottage getaway. We booked to stay here as we were hiking up Snowdon and unfortunatly we had terrible weather and we could'nt wait to get back to sit infront of the lovely fire! The cottage has been decorated to a high standard and feels very homely. You have all cooking utentils you will need as well as towels. Everything was very clean and you couldnt ask for it to be any better. Thank you for allowing us to stay John! You have a beautiful home.

Hi, I'm John.
I'm a self-employed wall and floor tiler. I live in North Wales, which I love not just for the scenery, but the people too.
5 things I need in my world:
Laughter,
Friends and family,
Music,
Snowdonia,
Freedom.
I've travelled all over the world, Nepal being one of my favorite destinations, but then South America and North America, oh yea and Europe aren't bad either!!!!
My cottage has plenty of history, built around 1850 it served as a home for the workers on the Vaynol estate. I bought it 9 years and literally threw it away, I rebuilt it to modern standards and wanted it to be a cosy modern house, but maintaining the originality of the property. It has a wonderfully comfortable atmosphere and everyone I know tells me just what a lovely place it is to be in.
I work away from home most of the time, so this is my retreat. This isn't a sterile hotel or lodge, this is a home, so you'll find the odd quirks, but given time and customer feedback I want to make the cottage as best a place to stay as I can.
