An inviting private bedroom located in a beautiful tree lined street in Astoria. Safe and quiet but yet near many restaurants, bars, shops and transportation. Subway is a quick 15 minute ride to NYC. Great views of Manhattan skyline from Astoria park!!

The space

This apartment is your home away from home!! Full of amenities this cozy apartment located a few minutes from the city and nearby trains and busses it's the perfect place to stay when visiting NYC. This private bedroom is located on a first floor apartment giving you a quiet and tranquil environment which you will enjoy after a long day of sightseeing or exploring the streets of New York.

The bedroom is private and the bathroom will be share with me an another airbnb guest I might have in the other room, the bedroom has a queen size bed, a chair, nightstand, a lamp and a closet with hangers, a clean set of sheets, blanket and a towel per person are provided with the room, there's a radiator in the room to keep the room warm and cozy during the winter, I have no control over the amount of heat provided since I rent I don't own the place but if it gets too hot, the room has a fan to keep some equilibrium on the temperature, the window is also operable without any keys so guests can open it to let some air come in the room, the other room I rent with airbnb is right next to this room and my room is at the other end of the apt right by the living room as you can see on the pictures, the bathroom is closer to the rooms I rent, right next to them. I also have 2 cameras monitoring the apt to keep everyone safe (not that I ever need them but I figured is better to be safe than sorry).

Astoria is an amazing neighborhood that is extremely close to NYC. Full of delicious and trendy restaurants (Greek, Japanese, Italian, etc.) as well as exciting bars and cafes. Your stay in this neighborhood will be a pleasant one. Supermarkets are all walking distance as well as pharmacies. Pretty much anything you need can be found in this area. Some attractions in Astoria that you can enjoy is the Moma PS 1 museum, Astoria Park, Kaufman Studios.

The subway is 6 blocks away and it's the last stop so there is always a seat available and a pleasant commute. LaGuardia airport is 10 minutes away approximately $10.00 in a NYC cab. JFK is about 20 minutes away. Newark airport is a bit further but there are connections with trains and buses.

Guest access

The bedroom is private, the bathroom will be share with me and with another airbnb guest(s) I might have in the other room, kitchen is available upon request.

Interaction with guests

I live in the same apt so I'm always available to answer their questions and when I'm at work, I'm available by phone call or text message.

The apt has 3 bedrooms, I rent 2 of them with airbnb and the 3rd room is mine, I live in the same apt so I'm always available for answering questions, and when I'm at work I'm always available via phone call or text message. Since I don't have a cleaning fee, in order to remind affordable for everyone, I expect guests to keep the apt clean by cleaning after themselves (not after anyone else but after themselves) if something was clean before they used it, i expect them to leave it the same way after they used it. Use of kitchen is only allow until 8:30pm. I only stayed briefly following a flight, but Angelo seemed a nice guy, and his mother let me use her phone charger, as I'd forgotten to buy a US plug adapter! The place was clean, the room exactly as pictured, and the neighborhood residential in character. There's also a subway station about 10/12 minutes walk away. Overall, this place seemed a good option at a reasonable price.

The description was accurate, although the exact location is different from the listing on Airbnb which did cause some initial confusion. The area is nice. Angelo's place is pretty basic. Although the price is good, I feel it would benefit from a few minor improvements, such as a bed-side lamp. The bed sheets also felt like they were made of quite cheap material. Apart from that, our stay with Angelo was great. He left us to come and go as we pleased.

The room at Angelo's space is spacious and well-kept, and Angelo is very polite and friendly. The apartment is only a 10 minute walk from Astoria Boulevard, where you can catch the subway into Manhattan. If - like me - you don't have a phone which works in the US, it might be helpful to know when you arrive that Angelo's apartment is number D2. All in all I was very pleased with stay at Angelo's, which was great value for money, and would recommend it.

Amazing accommodation, clean, quiet location and good access to the center (about 25 minutes to the Manhattan). Excellent and easy access from the airport. Room for three smaller, but comfortable we climbed. I would love to live here again and from New York. Thank you soon much.

Angelo was really nice with my late check in due to airline delays. He always responded promptly and I didn't have trouble finding the place (great location close to LGA). Based on the price of this place - you get what you pay for. But I still feel with what you pay there should have been some more amenities such as a real bed (it was only a mattress) and some proper pillows. Although there was a fan it was really hot and muggy in the room and because of this I had to cut my stay short. Other than that if you'll be out all day and just there to sleep then it would be good in cooler weather.

My name is Giancarlo Angelo, Gian or Giancarlo for friends and the airbnb community, I'm 27 years old, I live in Astoria, NY since 2009. I love traveling, meeting new people and learning about other cultures, that's why I love airbnb so much because it gives me the opportunity to do both things as a guest and as a host.
