Perfect for student, intern or professional w/temporary needs. Avail NOVEMBER 1ST or a flexible start date. Located in Edgewater Andersonville neighborhoods. Transportation hub for NWU, DePaul, Truman, NorthPark, Loyola, ez trip downtown or Evanston. Set up for one person, room for an occasional guest.

The space

Private large bedroom and bathroom. Wi-Fi, queen bed/pillows for two, lots of closet space, private bathroom and storage in basement for suitcases or boxes and Back porch. Smoke free. Bed and bath next to each other. Long study table and 2 closets and storage in basement. 3 washers/dryers in basement. Great water pressure 24/7. Parking on the street. I have had many international students here, but some English is best. In June your space will have new window, newly painted rooms. No outdoors shoes allowed in room, trying to maintain the carpet. You'll be responsible for maintaining room bed sheets, towels and vacuuming carpet. Note: This space is not set up for sleeping during the day and up thru the night.

Guest access

Your area is in the back. I work from home. No worries coming and going or having to be quiet in my home. You enter through the back, I from the front and back. We share the kitchen but your area is next to the frig, so those 2am snacks are close and you don't need to tip toe around.

Interaction with guests

Always available by text. I'm very active and in and out, but text will always get a response! I'm a great source for most things Chicago.

Other things to note

In the summer there are back yard parties but people are considerate and keep music low after 10pm. Even with the very shy renters, I find in a week they'll feel comfortable. For renters, I help you to adjust to the city, safety issues, diverse communities and if your learning english (but know some) I enjoy helping with words. I'm a mature adult, I've rented to young people for 5 years and never had a bad situation. I tend not be involved in the renters comings and goings, I keep to myself but always have a smile.

Guests aren't permitted to have any guests or overnight guests without confirming with me. Won't rent to anyone who sleeps during the day and is active only in the evening. I tend not to take all the month's rent at booking, but I do want rent for the 1st month. This way it doesn't tie up your funds and if this space is not for you, you can move out, as long as you give a 30 day notice. Full payment due for 1st month at time of reservation, unless something else is worked out.

This was our first trip to Chicago, but we felt right at home with Christine. She has a fantastic place, extremely convenient to the red line for sightseeing, and located in fun Andersonville, which is a destination in it's own right. Christine is a super friendly host and knowledgeable local with lots of great tips on what to see, how to get around, etc. The apartment worked perfectly for us and we loved hanging out with Stanley, who might be the world's friendliest cat. We would definitely go back!

This was our first time staying at an Airbnb. I would recommend it. Christine was a great host. Everything was fresh, neat and clean.

Room was better equipped than the other places we stayed. We particlarly liked the spacious desk with brochures,TV, and two chairs and room for eating and writing. The bed was very comfortable with a lamp for reading. The location was perfect: safe, diverse neighborhood and you can walk to beach, red line, bus, restaurants, grocery and other stores. (Also friendly neighborhood bar). Christine (aka Killian) was wonderful: friendly, extremely helpful, not at all intrusive, and a good host with local flavor. She had the coffee ready the night before so all we had to do was plug it in! We would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend Christine and her cat, Stanley!.

Christine was easy to work with and had a great space. It was good for me - I took a continuing education course at Swedish Covenant Hospital 2 miles away, and for my boyfriend who hopped the Red line into town and got to have fun all day. Great place to stay!

My friend and I had a great time here! Christine was super friendly and knowledgable of the area. The house is close to a grocery store and to the bus line - it was easy to get to and from downtown without paying for a cab. The house also had all the amenities we needed: A/C, a comfy bed, cable in the room, coffee in the morning, etc. Also, the street is very quiet for people who like to head to bed early or sleep in. I definitely recommend staying here. :)
