The Palazzo Gallotti has been family-owned for many centuries. We accommodate and pamper you with local products, guide you on hikes or give you the best tips for exploring the area (Cilento Geo & National Park).

The space

Our B & B is located in a wing of the property still inhabited by the Gallotti family. Its construction dates back to the end of the fifteenth century, and a little later the property of Battaglia and Casaletto became the property of Baroni Gallotti. The building is slightly elevated above the small village of Battaglia (460 m above sea level) with a view of a breathtaking canyon, cooled in the summer by the dense chestnut and acacia woodland, directly adjoining the large garden (with vegetable growing). The village is located on the southern edge of the Cilento National Park, protected by UNESCO for its geological features (karst phenomena, grottoes, caves), its flora (lilies, primroses, orchids), its fauna (otter) and its socio-cultural integrity. Up to 1900m high mountains and crystal-clear pebble bays invite you to get to know this region of southern Italy, which is untouched by mass tourism.

Guest access

Our guest rooms are furnished with old furniture from family ownership. We offer you a room with Grandlit (40 Euro), and two double rooms (50 Euro), one with shower / WC (70 Euro). The other rooms share a large bathroom with shower, tub and bidet, as well as two separate toilets. In the large living room with fireplace we serve homemade products such as eggs and honey, jams, bread and pastries. In the sunshine we will entertain you in our farm.
We will gladly provide you with lunch packages for your day trips. On request you can also dine with us in the evening. We cook seasonally with vegetables from the garden and regional products according to traditional recipes.

Interaction with guests

Our accommodation is the original form of the B & B. The guest rooms are located inside the apartment of the hosts. We are looking forward to welcoming our guests with tips and contacts to local people.

Other things to note

It is a double room with a private bathroom.

The breakfast was great all natural and fresh fruit from the garden, bed was very comfortable. Miriam was a doll, so sweet. I had the impression that the rooms was integrated with the rest of the castle but the room is in a private area in Miriam's home, with the rest of the castle to be viewed only with permission from the host as it is shared with other families. But we were given a tour in the morning before checkout. Lovely space.

Actually we wanted to stay just two days at the palazzo, but we enjoyed it that much that we stayed more than a week. The Palazzo is a beautiful place located in a quiet mountainous area. Miriam, Roberto and their two little daughters are such nice persons. They explained us a lot about the region and gave us advices for daytrips in the area or at the coast. It was a really warm and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast was great - homemade jam and honey. And of course we loved to be in that impressive old palace. We truly recommend to stay there and maybe we are coming back.

Miriam was very welcoming and helpful. She went out of her way to provide us info on the surrounding area and the attractions there are to see. The Palazzo Galloti is indeed a palazzo - an impressive private residence that seems to be a few hundred years old. Our room had a private shower and view to the garden/back yard. The atmosphere is that of the village in which the palazzo is located in, very tranquil and quiet. We slept soundly during our stay. We had breakfast served at around 9AM in the morning - consisting of fresh coffee/tea, cakes and home made bread with home made jams and home made honey (!!) which Miriam makes. Miriam has a garden in which she grows her own vegetables & fruits. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a genuine non-touristic experience of the area to stay here. We were exploring the neighboring towns, villages and beaches which were are about 20-30 mins drive away. There is a lot of nature to explore, and nice beaches to enjoy in the area. It was a great experience and I warmly recommend it to anyone who may be reading this far :)
