Welcome to Leighton's Place. Our home is located in the Gentilly/Lakefront area of New Orleans and is 4-5 miles away from the French Quarter. It’s a 2018 renovated set of studios featured on the back of our property with open concept eat, work and play areas with private entrance, shared laundry room and optional car rental or driving service. Home has a large backyard. 420 Friendly! (NO TOBACCO OR SUBSTANCE OF ANY OTHER KIND).
The space
Please be advised upon booking that only one studio depending on availability will be occupied.
Walking into Leighton’s Place Studios you enter an open concept living/dining and kitchen area. The entire studio is a new renovation with a display of recess lights throughout and blackout curtains for those sleepy nights.
Walking in to your left is your work space featuring an ergonomic chair and small workspace. There is also a dorm sized refrigerator and floor lamp for softer lighting. The kitchenette includes a hot plate additional microwave and everything you need to prepare a small meal and additional storage for small kitchen items. There is also a coffee maker for small serving purpose. The bathroom features a ceramic tile walk-in shower, toilet and mirror and sink area for day to day preparation. Exiting the bathroom is the bed for sleeping and wardrobe closet with body length mirror. Just ahead there's a lamp with shelves and the entry/exit door.
Studios are not suitable for children or infants nor more than 2 guests at a time. We do not welcome parties.
Guest access
Studios are located in the back yard portion of our property and is a stand alone set of two separate studio units split by a shared laundry room that is accessed from outside both units.
The walkway to enter the Studios are on the left facing side of the property, through the driveway towards the back of the property. It is the first or third door depending on which space is available on the portion of the property where both studios are located.
There is a driveway in which you are welcomed to park for easy access during your stay. There's also additional parking in the front of the property in which the owner usually occupies but is large enough to share.
Other things to note
Terry occupies the larger home and will be accessible. She is also the property manager.
WiFi is available at no additional charge.
There is a laundry room within steps of both Studios with washer and dryer that is shared between Studio One and Studio Two guests. It can be accessed from outside of both Studios and is the second or middle door between Studio One and Studio Two. No portion of the wash room is accessed from inside of either studio units.
All that we ask is you treat our home as you would any of your prized possessions and clean after yourself.
Car rental option is available via Turo. Please message if interested.
Terry offers driving service for your needs as long as you can communicate an hour in advance where you’d like to go. (Prices are contingent upon demand and market rate)
- airport pickup/drop off round trip $40 and one way is $25
- rides within a 5 mile radius are $10 (if it’s a quick trip mom (Terry) may be willing to wait for ya)
- rides between a 5 and 10 mile radius are $15 (mom is reasonable too, she won’t charge ya $15 for 6 miles if there’s no traffic)
-rides more than 10 miles are (just talk to moms, she’ll work it out for ya).
