We had a great time at Jim's house. The layout of the house was perfect for us - 2 families with 3 children. The children were able to play outside in the yard, the village was within walking distance. Jim met us for check-in and was available for any questions at all times.

A modern yet comfortable cottage located in the countryside of Tipperary. A generously thought out cottage that sleeps two couples and three kids whilst also managing three bathrooms. A spacious kitchen provides a cosy and homely feel. There is plenty of space in the grounds for kids to play and cars to maneuver. All surrounded by some beautiful countryside with terrific views and uninterrupted silence. The cottage is located close to a very small town with little in the way of facilities, however there was a lot of charm. A larger town was a 20 minute drive and there were many places of interest within an hour of the town. A hot tub and sauna are additional features that some may avail of. Only one in our party was particularly keen, however it would be rude not to have a go. If there was one problem it was the water pump in the house, when a tap in one of bathrooms was in use the pump activated and was noticeably loud, especially in the early hours of the morning. I would happily return with my family one day as this was one of the better experiences of cottage rental we have had and given the price and quality this is hard not to recommend to anyone.

Jim was very helpful in giving us information about the area. We planned to make day trips from the house and he provided us with a cooler to use. This was very helpful. His check in and check out times are very flexible. We arrived later than planned, and it wasn't a problem. He showed us around the house and explained how to use everything. The hot tub and sauna are a great feature.

A Hidden Gem. Jim went out of his way to make our visit comfortable. Even driving off to obtain a mobile phone to lend to us during our visit. The insulation and modern heating system combined with an effective slow combustion stove made the whole house cosy and comfortable. The spa was luxurious looking out on an interesting farming, plus soon to be forested slopes. Jim has a small but excellent selection of very useful books on Ireland in general and the area in particular. Some of our party were very experienced european (French) runners who praised the high quality of the local walks and the guide notes provided by Jim (although 1 cow did take an excessive interest). The house was clean and well stocked. Spacious comfortable, modern, good quality bathrooms & bedrooms. The nearby village, a very short drive has 3 pubs. The only one I visited (Jim's cousins) was very friendly, made good simple meals and has regular music sessions in a very traditional setting. Although not in a traditional tourist area we found it a good spot to visit Kilkenny Castle & medieval town, plus swung by The Rock of Cashel on the way home. There are quite a few other areas of interest within easy driving distance. Our party consisted of a couple in their late 50's & early 60's, plus a couple about 40 with 3 children, 2, 4, 6, the accommodation was big enough to easily handle the group comfortably. A bargain.

Fantastic place and host - Jim was at the cottage to greet us and show us round the cosy, well appointed home just outside the beautiful village of Upperchurch. Everything as displayed and a great base for meeting locals and exploring this beautiful part of Ireland. Highly recommended.
