I needed a BIG home to accommodate 12 people. Sara's home seemed like the perfect place, the reviews were pretty good, which after staying there, I am quite surprised. I originally asked if she would consider $400/night and she refused because "it is such a big house to clean." Only to find out the house was terribly gross and pretty disgusting and clearly was not cleaned before we arrived. The house did not have any handsoap or papertowels, so we went out to purchase those items. There is no AC in the common room and front of the house where three beds are located. I only rented the place for two nights (thank goodness it was not longer) and I checked in late on the first day (around 9PM). Cobwebs everywhere, smell of cat urine in some parts of the house, so bad we had to purchase Febreeze to cover the smells. ( Extra towels are on a shelf outside in the same room that the cat eats in. Sara reassured me that there is no issue of the cat peeing inside the house, but how could you possibly know that if you are not around? Maybe im sensitive to smells? Sara later told me the cobwebs are great for catching bugs ... Great, I guess if you prefer cobwebs over just a clean house. A lot of old, rusted things (mirrors and doorknobs) , the mosquito net was all ripped up and broken. Everything just seemed neglected and falling apart in the house. The sink head in the upstairs bathroom was not attached, (it worked) but every time you turned on the water, the whole head would detach. The room light in my mom's room did not work. The bathroom by the garage did not flush well (which we realized midday on our second day) The backyard beach was quite a disappointment because the water is merky and the sand is covered in broken pieces of wood/debris. It was not a beach you would want to hang at. Again, we only stayed two nights and checked in late the first night so there was not really time or any point of complaining. Just a warning to future renters, if you are type A about cleanliness - this is NOT the place for you.

Beautiful home! Loved the local art, handmade candles and soaps that were available for us.

It was nice being on the beach. But we didn't get the entire property to ourselves like we thought we'd be. We shared it with randoms with out notice. Amongst other problems, we feel this would not be a place we would stay at again.

I would highly recommend the Casa de Caracoles. The house is clean, it is spacious for large groups, and the location is right on a private beach. As long as you have a rental car, this place is perfect.

Sara was great! Very cool house and property on the beach; well kept and clean. We had a large group and the set up was perfect for us. Highly recommended!

Sara was kind and easy to communicate with. She answered all our questions and helped with requests. She welcomed us at the house for a few instructions and to answer anything we'd wanted to know. The house is relaxing and spacious, right on the beach. The balcony looking out at the sea was great with some wine at night. The beach was wonderful to go for a run in the morning.

Sara was awesome!!!! The most patient and generous person ever. She truly showed she cared throughout the entire trip. She was able to answer all our questions and assist with last minute errands for the wedding! The beach view is spectacular from the back and the sound of the waves crashing you can hear throughout. The house is beautiful and has everything you needed and was kid friendly. We will definitely be back here. Our party had about 13 of us and we still had room left that speaks for itself. Outstanding beach awesome host and with a rental car you can buy all you need to do your own backyard grilling! Thanks again for the wonderful week here and we all look forward to seeing you again!!!!!
