The space

The apartment is in a great location giving you access to one of Chicago's hottest neighborhoods for restaurants, bars, etc. and close enough to be downtown for all the tourist sites in 20-30 minutes.

I am a 20-min bus ride to the Magnificent Mile/Water Tower Place area and the lake front, or a 25 - 30 minute bus/train ride to Millennium Park and the loop with 1 connection.

The main bedroom has a Queen size bed (VERY comfortable) and the 2nd bedroom has a full size futon. There is also a full size futon in the living room, if necessary. Also, not pictured, it's possible to have a TV in one of the rooms which uses a digital converter. The TV in the living room has Cable.

All guests will receive their own shelf in refrigerator and cabinets. The apartment is close (10 minutes walking or 3 minute bus ride) to Jewel or Mariano's (grocery stores), so you can make your own meals if preferred. You will have clean linens and towels ready for you when you arrive. I have WI-FI (will give you the password when you arrive). Absolutely no smoking inside or outside the apartment.

Just 2 miles (3.2 km) west of Michigan Ave and Water Tower Place. The neighborhood, Wicker Park, borders East Village & Ukrainian Village to the south and Bucktown to the north. It's 8 - 12 minutes walking distance to two Blue Line stops (Damen or Division). The Division station is just 3 stops from downtown and after a 10 minute ride you can be enjoying the sights and sounds of Chicago's famous "Loop". The local area has many restaurants, bars, clubs, shopping and plenty of charm. Nightlife hot spots within walking distance include Fat Pour, The 50/Fifty, Bangers & Lace, Beauty Bar and many more. Great restaurants such as Smoke Daddy, Mana, Mirai Sushi, Prasino, Carriage House, Big Star to name a FEW.

There are lots of yoga studios and coffee shops in the area too! I can direct you to studios within walking distance.

If you have a car parking on my street is free (no permit required). I do have permits for 1 or 2 streets near the apartment that require them. The place is also easily accessible to downtown via public transportation. The Division and Damen buses are 1 block away and the North Ave bus is an 8 minute walk away.

-9 (Ashland Ave bus): South takes you to the green/pink lines or North takes you close to Wrigley Field.

-70 (Division bus): VERY fast and runs through the Gold Coast (just north of River North)

-66 (Chicago Ave bus): Direct to the Mag Mile (John Hancock builing)/Navy Pier or can transfer you to the blue, red, and brown lines for getting downtown or Millenium Park.

Getting downtown takes about 20-30 minutes by any of these means.

Anything else you want to know please ask - Thanks!

Fred's apartment was great, it was in a good location, just around the corner from lots of bars, shops and restaurants and 5 mins walk from the CTA Blue line stop to get into downtown Chicago. The apartment itself was clean and homely and had everything that we needed for out stay. Fred was also a great host, was flexible with our late check in and made sure he was around to show us around the apartment etc. I would recommend this apartment and would definitely stay there again myself.

Fred is a GREAT host! Simply put he is nice, available, and congenial. He offered us his time in suggesting places to dine, check out, and enjoy both before our stay via email and when we arrived. Wicker Park is a great location and Fred's place is walking distance to most attractions and close to bus and rail lines to access downtown. His place is clean and well documented by his photos. The beds are comfortable and facilities adequate. I would like to see a set price for up to 4 quests, not 2. We enjoyed our stay and would come back again. Pat

Fred was an amazing host and his space was fantastic...just enough space for myself and two friends. The location is perfect, a short walk to Humboldt Park and Milwaukee where there's tons of shopping and restaurants, and a quick cab ride to downtown. The space is also conveniently located next to a Blue Line stop, which was our "best friend" throughout the trip. Fred's place was clean and welcoming, beds were comfortable and bathroom was spacious. We didn't cook at the apartment during our stay, but if you like to cook, go for it! I'd highly recommend Fred and his apartment to any of my friends who are planning a trip to Chicago.

The apartment is in a very nice location, close to everything (like good restaurants, pharmacy and etc.) and also is very cozy. When we arrived, the apartment was clean and Fred was really available to answer all question we asked. Wifi connection works very well Just the mattress could be more confortable.

This was my first airbnb experience and it was made a success by Fred. He contacted us already one week before our stay to inform us about relevant details. When we arrived, he explained everything and made us comfortable immediately. The appartment was clean and it was great to use the kitchen during our stay. The futon in the second bedroom is a bit hard and there was some noise outside sometimes in the night, but the main bedroom was quiet and the bed was good. The neighbourhood is interesting and lively, the Loop is whithin short distance with the "El". It was a great stay at Freds appartment!

I love traveling to other countries, learning about other cultures and seeing live music. My favorite countries so far are Brazil, Ethiopia, Turkey, Nepal and so many others! I left the corporate world and started a job that allows me to do that. Overall, I am an easy going guy who enjoys meeting new people and eating good food!

I'm a very active person, so I can definitely give you tips and information on places to eat, concerts, non-touristy things to do in Chicago and anything else you might want to know to make your trip to Chicago more enjoyable. I love telling people about all the great things you can do in Chicago as well as providing information that makes their trip a lot easier.
