The space

The place is really quiet and relaxing place. There is a big garden with lovely spots to hang out. You can borrow the hammock for sunny days.

Other things to note

There is an outdoor toilet! The house has an indoor bathroom with a sink and a shower, but the toilet is outside in the shed. It is nice, and nothing to worry about, but good to know, right? ;-)

Once we had overcome the major shock of an outdoor toilet and the minor inconvenience of drinking water from a jerrycan, it turned out into a really lovely stay with nice weather. Plenty of choices to sit in the sun or in the shade. The occasional Norwegian train passing by causes no problems. The house is full of memories of bygone days. The sheds will be interesting for kids although slightly dangerous.

It is a perfect spot if you are looking for a "far away from it all" experience. Amazing location, perfect isolation, great amenities inside and outside. It is a fully bodied summer house with all equipment there! And it feels incredibly cosy, you will not be ready to leave after a couple of days. Ola is super easy-going and very helpful. Communication with him was perfect. We didn't meet in person but hope to catch up in the future. The only downside, or more a thing to be aware ahead, is that the toilet is waterless. Perhaps not surprising for most Scandinavian people used to this standard, but others may arrive a bit surprised. At the beginning only, as this facility fits the vibe of the place ;)

We stayed at Ola's place again and it was as lovely as before. What a nice spot.

Ola's 130 year old railroad cabin is a gem of a place. Unusual for Swedish cabins (as far as I am aware) it has high ceilings and a large kitchen. The interior is tastefully decorated and the whole place feels very cosy. There's also plenty of green space to hang out outside the cabin. We spent the days hiking in Tresticklan National Park, about 30mins away by car, a beautiful piece of forest on the Norwegian border. The property located on the rail track between Gothenburg and Oslo a few kilometers outside the town of Ed, but we did not see very many trains and they caused no disturbance. (We thought they were rather charming, actually.) While we did not get to meet Ola, communication was easy and friendly.

Séjour pittoresque dans un endroit un peu perdu mais la maison est décorée avec goût. Toilettes sèches et dans une dépendance pour une pose (URL HIDDEN) un retour dans le temps.
