The Cottage at Woodlands is a modern ,contemporary self catering apartment that overlooks the beautiful west Lyn Valley with the sounds of birds and the distant rushing river. Relax in the HOT TUB located on th sunny patio terrace and enjoy the view.

The property has its own access to the Lynway which is part of the Two Moors Way and is a lovely footpath to Lynton ,only a ten minute walk away. It has a fitted kitchen and contemporary bathroom. Sunny in summer and super cosy in winter.

The space
The Cottage at Woodlands is situated in the beautiful Lyn valley and offers stunning views across woodlands together with birdsong, the rush of the West Lyn river and the sight of huge buzzards wheeling in the sky.

The Cottage offers modern comfortable accommodation with a brand fitted kitchen, a log burning stove, contemporary bathroom with walk in shower, large bath and two ‘ his and her’ wash basins. The cosy bedroom has very comfortable queen size bed. A ground floor sofa bed will accommodate two additional guests (smaller children) in the lounge.

Guest access
Guests have exclusive use of their own terrace with patio furniture and umbrella. Lynton is only a ten minute walk away along the beautiful Lynway footpath which is also part of the two Moors way. There are a variety of excellent pubs, restaurants and cafes ,all within walking distance , in Lynton and Lynmouth.There is direct access to stunning walks ( coastal, river and woodland ) from your front door as many walking trails pass directly through the area such as the South West Coastal Path, The Tarka Trail, Coleridge way and the Two Moors Way. There are hidden rugged beaches close by and the stunning long sandy surfing beaches of Woolacombe , Croydon and Saunton are only a 40 min drive away. The local rivers are famous for wild swimming too! In short The Cottage at Woodlands is a fabulous location to enjoy many outdoor pursuits & enjoy everything this unspoilt, peaceful area of North Devon has to offer.

THE LOCAL SURROUNDINGS
The walks and beaches are accessible all year round but be prepared so remember your walking shoes and bring wet weather gear just in case !

The area has many stunning views but is very hilly and likely unsuitable for those with severe medical conditions.

The Cottage at Woodlands is gorgeous in the summer with the terrace bathed in sunshine and it’s very cosy in the winter with its log burning stove and deep bath. The variety of walks accessed directly from the property are simply stunning and can be enjoyed all year round!

The towns of Lynton and Lynmouth ,both within walking distance along pretty footpaths ,are well known holiday destinations in one of Englands last remaining tranquil areas ,Exmoor. Known for its spectacularly rugged scenery, the Valley of Rocks, and many steep hills this area has long been known as “Little Switzerland” The most famous attractions include the multi award winning funicular Cliff Railway which first opened in 1890 linking Lynton with Lynmouth .It is the highest and steepest totally water powered railway in the world and provides stunning coastal views. Lynmouth provides a romantic escape from modern living with its pretty fishing harbour ,unique fishing cottages ,quirky shops and wonderful old pubs serving excellent locally caught fish dishes.Lynton ,perched high on the cliffs, is a vibrant Victorian village which has managed to retain a quaint mix of individual shops both old and modern .It also boasts some really top class restaurants catering for visitors from all over the world who are regularly surprised by the standard. Treat yourself and listen to the Lynmouth Shanty Crew performing their wide range of sea shanties at the Ancient Mariner on most Thursday nights.
In addition to this the area provides stunning walks , coastal,river ,woodland and moorland. Many well known trails such as the South West Coastal Path, Two Moors Way, Coleridge Way , Tarka Trail and the Watersmeet Walk, all start or pass through Lynton and Lynmouth. If you love hiking ,good food, welcoming pubs and stunning scenery .. this is the place for you.
