The space
The SCRIPTORIUM - once the secret 'writing room' of the monastery - forms now the very special framework of a unique one-bedroom-apartment on 2 floors with plenty of original features;
whilst lounge/kitchen and spacious bathroom is at ground floor, the bedroom is upstairs under the high chapel ceiling & surrounded by stained glass windows...fluffy bathrobes are provided to stroll to the ChapelPool and feel very cozy within your apartment!

This is a self-catering APARTMENT for 2, one of the very few in the abbey totally detached from other apartments.

NETFLIX & Co. are for you to enjoy at the TV in your lounge!

All facilities of The Highland Club available are included; like The Chapel Pool with sauna & steam room, The Club Lounge in the former refectory with full-sized snooker table, MiniGym, Tennis Court and so much more to explore!!!

Surrounded on three sides by water, the abbey is set on the southern end of Loch Ness in 20 acres of beautiful mature garden grounds which extend right down to the shoreline of Loch Ness; its just 40 minutes drive from the City of Inverness.

THE HIGHLAND CLUB -as part of the services for YOU - includes an heated indoor swimming POOL with steam room & sauna, a well equipped MiniGYM, a tennis court, badminton net, giant chess, BBQ-places, croquet lawn, outdoor table tennis and cricket pitch, and a Club Lounge with full sized snooker table (free WLAN connection!), also with the 'Boathouse' restaurant on site at the shores of Loch Ness... you will have a very enjoyable, luxury stay!

The Highland Club as the estate is known has implimented an online booking system for The Chapel Pool complex, Tennis Court and Gym; this in line with necessary limitations on capacity and time limits.

At the Abbey Church car park you will find Pod Point EV charger (7 kWh untethered Type).

This most romantic and centrally positioned retreat is ideal for a LONGER STAY with so much to explore right on your doorstep and within the former abbey...a perfect position for The Highlands of Scotland and even parts of West and East Coast returning each day to your cozy place at the shores of famous Loch Ness!

Please kindly respect that your stay should start on a day guests are leaving OR end at a day new guests are arriving. This is important for not having too many single one nights unoccupied, a 2 nights gap is oK.

I have been living in Scotland since 2008 ... here we are running a B&B/self-catering at a church which was started by my partner more than 20 years ago and since 2009 we have been offering accommodation at a most stunning former abbey on the shores of famous Loch Ness ... especially the darker times of the year we are enjoying the special light of the island of La Palma, Canarias running a DiningClub at our home, the VillaTARA ... together with my partner Andreas and our caretaker & friends we love to be part of a most exciting holiday, your trip to Scotland and/or to La Palma! I have lived in Scotland since 2008. There we run a B&B/self-catering apartment in a church, which my partner started more than 20 years ago and since 2009 offer a very special accommodation in a former abbey on the shores of the famous Loch Ness... in the darker times of the year we are on the island of La Palma, Canarias and open our private house, the VillaTARA for a dining club... together with my partner Andreas, our managers & friends we look forward to being part of a wonderful holiday in Scotland and/or on La Palma!
