Woodland Cottage is situated on 4 acres along a rushing creek in Boone. Large gourmet kitchen with gas range & double oven, deck, fire pit, updated bathrooms, and well-established gardens and fruit trees. Located on a NC Scenic Byway yet still close to Boone, Todd, and West Jefferson. Near the New River, tubing adventures, and great hiking. Put your chair in the creek & relax.

The space
**We offer a 2pm checkout time to make your vacation even more enjoyable!**

-Magical land. A beautiful creek runs the length of the backyard and is a perfect spot to relax & explore. Four acres of open space, great for outdoor games & pets. Mature landscaping & trees throughout the property. FLAT driveway.

-Chef’s kitchen. The large, gourmet kitchen is ideal for those who love to cook. It is fully equipped with a gas range and Jenn Air double oven, cookware, knifes, cutting boards, basic spices & oil, and plenty of counter space. Coffee provided!

-Cozy bedrooms. Comfortable beds & bedding with 100% cotton sheets. Each room has a closet & furniture to store your clothing & other items.

-Inviting living spaces. Relax on the large sectional sofa or on the deck overlooking the creek. Smart TV with Roku (Netfllix, Prime, Max) & HDMI compatible. High speed internet & WiFi provided.

-Modern bathrooms. Soak in the large tub or enjoy the walk-in shower. Each bathroom stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, & plenty of soft towels.

-Best of both worlds. Be embedded in nature while still a short yet scenic drive to restaurants & amenities. 10 minutes drive to a supermarket (Lowe's Foods), 12-15 minutes to Downtown Boone & awesome restaurants, 2-5 minutes to neighborhood markets, 10 minutes to Todd & the New River, 30 minutes to downtown West Jefferson, 25 minutes to App Ski, & 10 minutes to Elk Knob State Park.

Guests will have complete privacy throughout the the home and 4 acres of land. The basement area and utility room of the home are not available to guests and used for storage.

Other things to note
-There is very limited cell phone service on the property. However, guests can call, text, and use messaging apps over WiFi (high speed via Spectrum). A landline phone is available in case of emergency.

-A power line runs through the backyard of the property. It doesn’t interfere with the view or otherwise cause any problems.

-The front yard is fenced though short enough that some dogs can jump over. The back yard is not fenced. Guests should leash or supervise their dogs while on the property.

-Local hunters use surrounding land for deer and turkey hunting. You might hear gunshots though it is rare. If that bothers you, please look elsewhere.

-The home is located on a NC Scenic Byway. There is potential for road noise from motorcycles, trucks, & cars that you will mainly hear if outdoors. The landscaping provides privacy to the home.

-Our home is embedded in nature and it is possible a critter such as a spider or bug will make its way inside. Fall is “stink bug” season in western North Carolina. They are harmless but desperate to get inside and will fly in if you leave any doors open! The home has preventative service to keep critters away from the perimeter of the house.

-One exterior camera is located at the front door. It records sound and video when motion activated. It is on 24/7 including during your stay.

Neighbourhood highlights

Located in the Meat Camp community, a rural area still close to downtown Boone. Meat Camp is part of the Old Buffalo Trail that was established before the Revolutionary War. It is included on lists of "unusual place names." There is local lore about the positive energy of this area of the mountains.

Enjoy the privacy! There are no other homes directly adjacent to the property and it is bordered by a creek, mountain side, and pasture. You might see cows roaming the pasture next door.
