The space
Indulge yourself in pure luxury and enjoy breathtaking, panoramic views of Herne Bay’s beautiful beachfront at the stunning Bellevue by the Bay, with private parking.

This large, unique holiday home blends original period features with modern luxury. Enjoy a special experience commanding what is truly the best view in town – all to yourself. Take it in through the living room’s giant bay windows, which flood natural light into the apartment, or on our fabulous balcony. The sunsets will blow you away!

The spacious, bright rooms keep you cool in the summer thanks to lovely high ceilings typical of the Victorian era; eye-catching with their original coving features. You’re sure to feel warm and cosy in the winter too, with underfloor heating and amazing cast iron radiators, not to mention blankets aplenty for you to curl into and, of course, the spectacular fireplace. Nothing better than lounging in front of a roaring fire on a winter’s night.

Stepping into this home you are immediately struck by its grandness; the gorgeous marble fireplace, antique rugs and furniture, stunning chandeliers, beautifully restored parquet flooring, sash windows and intricate stained glass features will hark you back to a time of great splendour.

But enjoying the opulence of old doesn’t mean missing out on the savviness of new. This is a ‘smart’ home in every sense of the word, from its Nest thermostat and smart speaker, lighting and heating to its gigantic 65-inch 4K Ultra HD Smart TV with Fire TV Stick, offering you five-star home entertainment when you’re not enjoying the local attractions.

When you do venture out, you couldn’t be better placed. Herne Bay’s beautiful beach is literally on your doorstep, as are an eclectic array of the town’s finest restaurants, bars and tourist attractions. Its popular Central Bandstand and Herne Bay Pier are a stone’s throw.

After a long day on the beach, there’s nothing more comforting than indulging in some luxury. Bellevue by the Bay is high-spec throughout, with Smeg fridge and appliances, Nespresso machine, a brilliant Range cooker and immaculate Villeroy & Boch-fitted bathroom suites. The snug Chesterfield sofas and king-sized beds with Simba memory foam mattresses, chunky Hybrid pillows and Egyptian Cotton 800TC sheets (coupled with the fresh sea air!) are sure to see you departing Bellevue feeling well rested and rejuvenated.

Where you’ll be

Kent, England, United Kingdom

Herne Bay is a quaint English seaside town and a popular destination for holidaymakers seeking both the relaxation of a beach getaway and a thriving local visitor scene complete with charming seaside cafes, tea rooms, restaurants, independent shops, boutiques and tourist attractions.

Guests of Bellevue by the Bay are not only positioned just yards from the beach but are also a stone’s throw from Herne Bay’s most famous attractions, including the world's first freestanding purpose-built Clock Tower and the town’s historic sea defence jetty (also known as Neptune’s Arm) as well as its flagship pier, promenade and central bandstand. An English seaside town wouldn’t be complete, of course, without traditional amusement arcades, beach huts and pit stops to indulge in yummy fish and chips, ice cream and candy floss!

Bellevue by the Bay boasts the best view over Herne Bay’s glorious beachfront and harbour, from both its giant bay windows and its gorgeous balcony. In the summer, enjoy your prime view as the beach fills up and the jet skis take to the sea. Watching the large waves crash into the beach in the winter, meanwhile, is amazingly therapeutic as you cuddle up in front of the period Victorian fireplace.

Whatever the weather, you can’t beat a walk along Herne Bay’s breathtaking coastline - blissful in the sun and soul stirring on a windy day (blowing all the cobwebs away!). Turning right from the front entrance of Bellevue, you can stroll to ‘The Downs’, the Kings Hall or further on to the historic and imposing Reculver Towers, home to one of the earliest Roman forts and magnificent sea views. Cyclists or keen walkers can also go further to Minnis Bay, a secluded sandy beach popular for windsurfing and kite surfing.

Turning left from the front entrance of Bellevue, you’ll immediately stroll through the aforementioned promenade and past the Clock Tower, Neptune’s Arm and Herne Bay Pier, heading further into Swalecliffe, a popular birdwatching spot, or walking to Whitstable Castle within an hour. Barely a few minutes on foot from Bellevue by the Bay will also get you to the Seaside Museum, showcasing olde Herne Bay, and the Kavanagh, a charming (and very cheap) independent cinema in a Greco-inspired building.

If that isn’t enough, Herne Bay is also a fantastic base to explore other wonders of Kent, affectionately known as the Garden of England. Explore the extensive woodlands and hiking trails of Clowes Wood just five miles away; experience Canterbury’s picturesque cobbled streets and world-famous cathedral 20 minutes away by car or bus; spend the day at Margate’s Dreamland theme park or renowned Turner Contemporary art gallery, also only 20 minutes away; or reach the awe-inspiring White Cliffs of Dover in a little over half an hour, to name just a few nearby attractions.

If you have any questions at all about how to make the most of your stay in beautiful Herne Bay, please do let us know and we’d be delighted to share our tips!

I’m Angela, I have been looking after guests in holiday homes since 2002. I enjoy meeting people and ensuring my guests have a wonderful holiday experience. Initially my husband and I bought a condo on Madeira Beach, Florida, which we ran as a holiday home for 4 years. Currently we own two holiday homes in Herne Bay, and I manage six holiday homes in total locally in Herne Bay. I like my guests to enjoy the English seaside and happy to give restaurant recommendations, guidance on what to do and answer any questions to the best of my ability. I would like to think you will have a good experience while on holiday in a home I manage.
