The space

The house is a one-story 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 car garage. This is an entire-home rental. There is a queen-size bed in each of the 3 (URL HIDDEN) master suite has a private master bathroom accessed directly from the bedroom. The shower is 9' long by 3' wide with two shower heads: regular and a 10" diameter "rain" shower head, and tiled floor to ceiling with porcelain tiles and a large glass-block window which lets in plenty of light. A walk in closet is located off the bathroom. The bedroom has real hardwood floors. Light comes in through French doors that look into the large backyard. The two other bedrooms (both with queen-sie beds and hardwood floors) share another full bath (also with dual shower heads as described above) and a large 6'x3' glass block window.

The kitchen has matching appliances, with a gas oven and stove, a microwave and a dishwasher. The living room has a 47" LCD HDTV, PS3 (Blu-ray player) and, 5.1 Surround Stereo you are free to enjoy. The house also has wi-fi.

There is a large fenced backyard, covered patio, and 2 car garage. The house is located in a nice residential neighborhood only 6.2 miles from downtown. It's a straight shot up S. First Street and you can take just 1 bus with no transfers. We are also near a very large popular shopping area (Southpark Meadows Shopping on Slaughter Avenue) complete with Super Wal-Mart, Super Target, Sam's Club and 17 screen Tinseltown movie theater.

About the host:
I love to travel and to experience difference cultures especially by visiting places I have never been to before. I try not to do the same place twice.I especially enjoy going to a country where I feel that I'm IN ANOTHER COUNTRY.

When I travel, I prefer to either go with/visit someone from that country (who speaks the language) and stay with them... and get to experience life as a local, and not as a tourist.

I'm both a Webmaster and an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for the Deaf. I've lived in Austin for the past 19 years.

Motto: "You only live once... but if you work it right, once is enough." So, live life to it's fullest and experience as much as you can.

Guest access

Guests will have full run of the house. No other persons will be on property. (There is one small "owner's closet" in the hall that is locked. It has items to reset house for next guests. This is the only space that is off limits.)

Interaction with guests

I highly encourage guests to download the AirBnB app to their smart phone. With it you can keep in touch with me via the site's "push" notifications which are like text messages, so I'll be notified immediately if you need anything. If I'm not in town, my friend and associate is just a few houses away, and I can quickly coordinate getting you whatever you may need.

House sleeps 6 people comfortably (3 queen beds X 2 persons per bed). House is full at this point, but I do have a queen-size air bed (2 additional people) but since there is no room in the bedrooms, it would have to be set up in the living room, off to the side. So, let me know if that's something you'd be comfortable with.

Joseph's house is better than described and Joseph was an absolute pleasure to work with. Nice cozy three bedroom house with two full bathrooms which included both a overhead waterfall shower (very relaxing if you have never used one) as well as a standard overhead shower. The place is very roomy and has just about everything you need including a nice backyard with back patio. There is also a property manager nearby so we had our place restocked during our stay which was a very pleasant surprise. The house is also located just about 10 minutes from downtown and has a HEB and several restaurants nearby. We had to evacuate due to hurricane Harvey and had to find a place quick while on the road. Joseph was quick on his response and very accommodating throughout the stay. We had to ask for a day by day extension since we were unsure of exactly when we would be able to return to our home. However Joseph was always available and worked without throughout the whole stay. I would definitely recommend this place and would absolutely stay here again if in Austin.

This place was perfect for our family and guests from Canada. It was clean, spacious and a great location to what we had planned (15 min away from McKinney State Park and congress bridge to watch the bats) We were able to bring our small dog which was awesome! There was a large backyard for the dog and kids to run around. Netflix was great to have at night. Joseph was great at communicating, easy check in / out. I would definitely stay here again

We stayed for about 4 months waiting for a new home to be built. We were just a few minutes from downtown Austin. Joseph was a great host, responded immediately to a couple of questions I had, and was very accomdating. I have twin 6 year olds that loved the space to play inside and the backyard, which was comfortable for our dog too. Great stay!

Joseph is committed to client service. He was always very cordial and followed up in timely during rental process and throughout our month long stay. The couple of repairs needed during our stay were immediately addressed and fixed. The location is very convenient to downtown by taking 1st Street and avoiding all the highway traffic. The house is very spacious, large tiled bathrooms with a backyard patio for outside dining.

I love to travel and to experience difference cultures especially by visiting places I have never been to before. I try not to do the same place twice... though I must admit I've been back to Costa Rica several times. I love the weather, landscape and the people there. Life is much simpler in CR and the people enjoy it.

When I travel, I prefer to either go with/visit someone from that country (who speaks the language) and stay with them... and get to experience life as a local, and not as a tourist. This is my favorite thing. Then I can eat the foods, meet the people, and see how they really live.

My most recent trip was to Taiwan in July 2014 for two weeks with friends. (One of which was born in Taipei.)

I'm both a Systems Analyst for a non-profit and an American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreter for the Deaf. I've lived in Austin for about 19 years. I just moved to Houston in 2012 for a job, (where I got a chance to use AirBnB a few times myself while looking for a place to live).
