The Presbytery is a private holiday home in central Forres, sitting opposite Grant park, Cluny hill and Sanqhuar woodlands. This traditional house offers comfortable accommodation for up to four adults and two children, including private garden and off road parking. The house is located five minutes from Findhorn Bay and the beautiful Moray Coast beaches and fifty minutes from the ski resorts of Aviemore and the Lecht. An ideal base to explore Moray, Speyside, Inverness and the Cairngorms.

The space
The house is the former Presbytery of St Margarets, Forres, built in 1929 and lovingly restored by us in 2012. It is furnished with art, antiques and individual pieces from our travels and collections.

The house has 3 bedrooms, the main bedroom can either be one superking bed, or two singles. The second is a double bed and the third has an adult size twin bunk bed. All have quality linens, anti-allergy duvets and pillows and plenty of towels.

Two bathrooms with luxury toiletries, one with walk-in shower on the ground floor, the other with shower over double-ended bath on the first. The kitchen-diner is well equipped with dishwasher, fridge freezer, range cooker and microwave, with plenty of utensils and crockery for keen cooks.

Two sitting rooms comfortably accommodate everyone, the main room off the kitchen has a wood-burning stove and tv and the rear garden room leads onto the patio and quiet rear garden with large lawn and fruit trees.

The house is ideal as a central base within the Moray area, Forres High Street is on the doorstep for local amenities, pubs, restaurants and shopping, with Findhorn Bay only a five minute drive. Moray is world renown for its dramatic coast full of beautiful sandy beaches, stunning inland scenery and cultural heritage. In under an hours drive are the Lecht and Aviemore ski centres, the Cairngorm mountain range with numerous year-round outdoor activities and the Highland city of Inverness, Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness.

Neighbourhood highlights

The Presbytery is set back in a quiet cul-de-sac sitting opposite Grant Park. It is walking distance from food shops, places to eat and drink and all the usual amenities of a small town high street. Cycle paths are numerous, both for on and off-road trails and the area is ideal for walkers, golfers and outdoor lovers of all kinds. Our local distillery Benromach, is within walking distance and is the start of the Speyside Whisky Trail. Here both whisky and gin are produced which you will also find at the house for you to sample. All kinds of adventure sports on the river and in the sea are very popular throughout the year, along with horse-riding, karting, paint-balling, archery, zip-lining, segways and too many more to list here. In addition, the many and varied historic attractions in the area provide plenty to do whatever the weather.
