I do not know where to begin. I guess I will start with location. The last time I was in Paris, i stayed in Le Marais and absolutely loved it, but wanted to change things up this time around. I believe this is the best neighborhood in all of Paris! The studio is surrounded by bookshops, cafés, markets, stores.... everything! So close to the Seine and main streets such as Boulevard St Michel and St Germain. The place itself is perfect for one (and I'm sure two.) Comfortable bed, decent shower and stunning views. The only slight downside would be the traditional squat toilet that is shared with the others living on this floor. It's not a deal breaker by any means and if you're really uncomfortable with it, you can use the toilets at the Starbucks or McDonalds about 5-10 minutes away. Yasmina went above and beyond in terms of communication and accommodating my odd schedule. I am absolutely thankful for the time I spent here and will be back oh so soon!

Yasmina is an awesome host. Very quick in responding to messages and super clear with directions on how to arrive at and access the apartment. She has great recommendations of all of Paris and is so nice. The apartment is great, super clean, lots of outlets for charging, great shower with lots of hot water, dishes and....the best view. On one side is Sorbonne and on the other, Notre Dame. Everything was great and I would without a doubt, stay here again!

At night, through the kitchen window, Notre Dame looks close enough to touch and Sacre Coeur is lit up in the distance. Facing the other direction, through the huge skylight, is the Pantheon. I will never forget this beautiful view of Paris and it felt like a view from a 5 star hotel. The apartment is close to everything: Notre Dame, the Pompidou, Jardin du Luxembourg, the Marais, many restaurants, cafes and grocery stores. The room is compact but comfortable with everything we needed, including a very functional kitchen, a shower, a table and chairs and a comfortable bed for two. The wifi worked very well and although we didn't use it, there was a TV and many DVDs. It's clean and Yasmina was extremely helpful with anything we needed. As for the toilet situation, this does make for a unique experience, and probably only suitable for well travelled individuals and/or people who are not terribly fussy. The toilet is right next to the unit so it's convenient and there was never anyone using it when we needed it. But it does require some getting used to if you've never used a squat toilet. It's really not a problem and I would never pass up an opportunity to have this view at this price just because of the shared squat toilet. If you want a beautiful view in an amazing location, and you don't mind a quirky toilet, then you'll be extremely happy here.

The listing was not accurate in terms of how small this apartment is. I'm 6 feet tall and not fat, a normal sized American man. But the flat is very small, with sloping ceilings and the bathroom facilities are just plain claustrophobic. If you drop something in the shower forget about being able to pick it up -- the shower stall is so narrow that there's no room to reach down. And the toilet is terrible. Not only is it "Turkish" style -- for those, like me, who didn't know exactly what that means -- it is a hole in the floor, nothing more. But that's not the worst part, the worst part is that the toilet is outside of the apartment in the hallway. And the space the toilet occupies is extremely cramped making it difficult and uncomfortable to use. We had rented the flat for 6 nights but we left after only 3. It was not a great experience and turned out to be an expensive lesson.

The location is great, the size of the apartment is fine for a couple, the bed is comfortable, and the wifi works likes a charm. So we got what we needed and were basically happy with the stay. There are a couple of downsides that people should be aware of: 1) The squat toilet in the public hallway is difficult to use, especially for a woman. Be aware that if you've used squat toilets elsewhere (such as in Asia), this one is quite different. Do a (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) image search for "Paris squat toilet" to see what it looks like. And bring a robe and cheap flip flops so you can walk through the hallway clothed but use the toilet while naked. 2) The elevator stops 2 floors short of this room. Many Paris buildings don't have elevators at all, but if you're searching specifically for elevator buildings, note that this doesn't reach all the way up. To Yasmina's credit, both these are indicated in the description. There's nothing unexpected or hidden. Bottom line: This is a fine place to stay provided you're able-bodied. I'd be comfortable coming back. I might not, however, come here if I were a pregnant woman or had bad knees.

The place is very small but it is in a confortable position and the view is really nice. The only problem is that the toilet (not a WC, just an hole in the floor) is outside the apartment, it is a shared bathroom in the building stairs and it is very very unconfortable. It would be correct by Jasmine to put a PHOTO of the terrible toilet.

Response from Yasmina:
The toilets are typical of under-the-roof Paris apartment...I am not allowed to post a photo of them...Sorry for the inconvenience, Luca.
