Just 20mins from Cork City and a 4min drive from Cobh Town, our double decker bus has a private outdoor space with a dining area and covered in SNUG with stove fire. It is the perfect base for adventures around Cork and Munster and we welcome families, couples and groups upto 6. THIS IS NOT A PARTY BUS!
The space
The Lux Bus is not just a place to sleep but its an experience in itself, where you will hopefully leave with some very happy memories. When you book you reserve the entire bus with parking for 2 cars (additional parking available on request) , your very own private outdoor snug, seating area, stove and BBQ. It is the perfect place to base yourself.
***Just to note this is not a party bus and parties, noise and visitors are strictly not allowed. We kindly ask that the bus is left in the same clean state that you found it in. The outdoor area must be vacated by 10pm ***
Nestled in the beautiful town of Cobh with countryside views, is the unique and luxury double decker bus. Within close proximity to the heritage town and minutes walk to public transport, a pub, pizza place, shop and laundry facilities, this is a hidden gem which one must experience. It is the perfect base location when visiting the Munster area and its extensive attractions. The bus is a stand alone accommodation so you will have sole use of the bus and its private outdoor space during your time with us.
This vintage London bus has been converted to an extremely high standard with attention to detail and all mod cons one would expect from a holiday stay. Our bus has everything you need for your stay but please feel free to ask if you have any special requests we may be able to help you with.
***As you can expect from a bus, there is a stairs on board and the ceilings upstairs are 5ft 9inch which lower than normal. To keep the bus as original as possible we did not change the height of the ceiling upstairs so this is something everyone should take note of. The shower is based upstairs so will be lower than normal***.
Every room has its own Smart TV complete with Netflix and YouTube etc with the main TV area also hosting a huge range of TV channels including sports. There is Wifi through out, but if you want some screen free time there is also a range of books, toys and board games.
The outdoor SNUG area is a fantastic place to hang out all year round but is especially nice on those rainy days when the rain is tampering down on the roof and your sitting with a book, a chat or a drink and that nice warm fire.
Guest access
A few days before you arrive we will send on the directions and check in details. Just to note the postcode online is incorrect because, as we are so unique we have lots of people wanting to visit unannounced for a peek, but our guests privacy is of utmost importance.
We will meet you on arrival with the key or leave the key for you if we are not available. On departure at 11am you can leave the key in the door. The Lux Bus is an entire property available to our guests. You will have your own front door, secure parking for two cars, private outdoor space with snug and all you would expect in your self catering apartment. We will also supply some of the essentials you would need for an easy comfortable hassle free stay. These will include towels, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel and an essentials box in each bedroom. There is a full kitchen on board stocked with coffees, teas, sugar, sweetener, cooking oil, salt and pepper. There are three major supermarkets within a two minute drive from The Lux Bus where you can stock up on anything else you may require.

Whether you are on a couples getaway or a family fun stay, The Lux Bus is the place to be. We have provided all the essentials you need for a home away from home experience and we are always on hand should you require any assistance. We have all the little touches on board like soft bed linen which are all professionally cleaned after each visit, toys, books and games. This is a unique experience and you will be reminded all the time that you are staying on a bus, with its original features throughout.
Parties are strictly not allowed and we kindly ask that the outdoor space is vacated by 10pm out of respect for our neighbors. We put a lot of hard work creating this unique bus experience, so we would greatly appreciate it if it was left for us as we left it for you :)
