Built on an Etruscan settlement, it is completely restored with respect to the conservation criteria of Cortona traditional houses.
Rasina House is situated in a stunning position at 500m of altitude over the Tuscan hills of Cortona, which give the house a fantastic and unique panoramic view. Rasina house is an ancient rural house that has been recently restored strictly using traditional materials, in accordance with the typical building typologies of the area. The house, which lies 8km away from Cortona town centre, is surrounded by woods and olive trees terraces, ideal places for enchanting excursions and walks.
Rasina House is composed of 4 bedrooms, all with a fabulous view, for a maximum of 8 people. It has 4 bathrooms, 1 living room, 1 large kitchen, 1 dining room and a veranda, all furnished in a perfect rural style. There is also a beautiful 'infinity edge' pool with a panoramic view on the valley. The house is also supplied with an hybrid heating system (solar+diesel), air conditioning, a large typical fireplace,TV,Wi-Fi internet access,washing machine,dish washer,electric oven and wood-fired oven.
Take the Florence-Rome (A1) motorway and turn off at exit "Val di Chiana". Then proceed on the Siena-Perugia freeway towards Perugia for about 3km and take the exit to Cortona. Once you reach the town of Camucia, follow the directions to Montanare/Mercatale and when you reach Montanare you should proceed on the same road for about 1 km. You should then meet a sign with "Strada basolata" written on: turn left at the sign and proceed on the dirt road for 500 metres, until the end of the road.

You can explore an incredible number of medieval and Renaissance towns and villages with their lovely architecture and pieces of art.
Cortona, with its medieval centre and etruscan sites, is obviously the unmissable destination, but there are a lot of other interesting towns at a short distance: Castiglion Fiorentino (½ hour drive), Arezzo (1 hour drive) going north.
Perugia (50 min. drive) and Assisi (1 hour 15 min. drive), are two unmissable places if you want to see the region of Umbria.
While Siena (1 hour 15 min. drive), Montepulciano (50 min. drive), Pienza (1 hour drive), San Gimignano (1 hour 30 min. drive) and San Quirico D'orcia (1 hour 15 min. drive) will give you the sights of the Tuscany you've always imagined.
Tuscany's capital, Florence, is well connected through A1 motorway (1 hour 30 min. drive), and it is also the on the way to Pisa and Lucca.
Other things to note
The closest town is Montanare, approximately 1.5 km away, with the closest restaurant. A supermarket, a tobacconist and a bar are available in Pergo town, only 3 km away from the house. The beautiful Cortona Town centre, with all the shops, art, museum and restaurants is 9 km away.
