The b&b is situated just outside of Carlisle with a very nice pub about five minutes drive away that serves good quality food and beer. Breakfast is excellent, the meat-free option is delicious and fresh fruit was yum. Melon, nectarine, mango and strawberries, none of your dodgy tinned fruit here or boring bits of apple and banana! There was also a selection of cereals and yogurts. Our room was gorgeous with a floor-to-ceiling window allowing views over the well kept garden and little bunnies hopping about. The house is truly lovely. Our only real dislike was the pillows provided - very lumpy and didn't sleep as well as we had anticipated - and an abundance of air-fresheners that made me feel a bit dizzy but we just unplugged the one in our room and then were fine. Huge thanks to Ian, Lorrain and their daughter for their generous hospitality and genuinely friendly interactions. Would definitely stay again.
This is a beautiful B and B in a quiet location. Clean, wonderfully furnished and peaceful room which even had a choice of books. The best breakfast I have ever had in any hotel or B and B. Great quality ingredients, generous and beautifully cooked. A lovely chat with Ian as I scoffed it all down. Highly recommended.
This was a lovely old and very unusual farmhouse, beautifully renovated and decorated. Ian and Lorraine were great-very friendly and relaxed. The breakfast was also lovely- there was a good choice but the full English was so good I had it both mornings. The location was very handy as it was just off the main road (but not noisy) and within easy striking distance of a couple of good pubs and Carlisle. We had a lovely stay and I can thoroughly recommend it.
This is a farm location but near a main route to Carlisle. The room was extremely comfortable in fascinating building. We wanted to be within reach of the Lake District, which we were, but also accessible to Carlisle. The breakfast was hearty and the stay was memorable. Great hosts with interesting stories.
