We offer numerous marked trails and a beautiful waterfall. We are walking distance to the beach and a 1/2 kilometer from restaurants, a grocery, and the main highway. Surfers are close to Morrillo Beach and Playa Reina. You can watch the sun rise over the mountains and view the ever changing river from your bed.

Where you’ll be

Torio, Provincia de Veraguas, Panama

The Torio town center is expanding all the time. Just recently marked trails were added throughout the valley where we are located. It is a hiker’s paradise where you can hike to the top of mountains or hike down the Torio River where it winds through the valley and leads to a beautiful waterfall. Young adults from France, Italy, the US, England, Israel, Canada and Panama offer yoga classes and massages on certain days, and several restaurants. They also have a designer soap factory where you can purchase soap made from goat's milk. In the mornings you can attend yogo classes or get a massage. At Morrillo Beach there is a surf hostel where you can catch a meal after catching some waves. You can also rent surfboards and pay for surf instruction. At certain times of the year, Torio has a weekend market where local artisans, fishermen, and farmers sell their products and produce.

I am a retired educator. I have taught all levels from kindergarten to university level. I have worked with children with all kinds of exceptionalities and disabilities. I grew up as a military brat ( my father was US Navy) and grew up living on both coasts of the United States, including Hawaii and the US Virgin Islands. I lived abroad in Malta and have traveled to most of the countries in eastern Europe and Greece and Turkey. I am open minded and love meeting people from all parts of the world and all walks of life. I am critical of those who wish to push or enforce their opinions and beliefs on others. I cherish individual rights and respect the rights of others. I love living in beautiful places and now live in on the west coast of the Azuero Peninsula in the country of Panama, where the mountains and rivers meet the Pacific Ocean. My husband is a surfer and we lived on the east coast of Florida for 25 years. My husband is retired from the Volusia County Beach Patrol and loves the outdoors and beauty of nature as well. We are both conservationists and do what we can to stem the tide of climate change. We have two beautiful children and 3 wonderful grandsons.
