19 miles to Mt Hood Meadows!

Easy access to the mountain from the last private property before Mt Hood National Forest!

The Ranger House is a vintage throwback to a simpler time, a unique space to spend time on Mt. Hood. Located on Highway 26, The Oregon Trail went right through the property, and you can visit a replica of the Barlow Road Tollgate, located 1/2 mile away. From the Tollgate a river rock stairway leads you down to the Zigzag River.

As you enter this rustic little home, you'll see the living room is open to the rest of the home. The open living space provides the perfect setting for gathering together. When you come back from the day’s adventures, sit back and relax. There's a 42" flat panel smart tv, and 1GB High-Speed Internet for your streaming enjoyment. There's also a DVD player and lots of DVDs (in the hall closet).

The kitchen has beautiful knotty alder cabinets with slab granite counter tops and is equipped with all the necessities for making meals. Ponder over historic maps of Mt. Hood while having dinner at the large rustic dining table.

This home has 2 bedrooms – both have queen size beds with comfortable high-quality pillowtop mattresses. Each bedroom has ample closet space for all your clothing and gear. Vintage skis and Historic Forest maps give it some old lodge spirit. There is a queen size sleeper sofa in the living room for additional sleeping.

The recently remodeled bathroom has rustic style with wood plank walls and a trough-style sink faucet. The tiled shower/tub has a rain can shower head, which feels especially nice after a day of exploring.

If you need laundry facilities, there is a washer and dryer in the utility room at the back of the cabin.

Outside the cabin, there are several large cedar trees and a stone firepit. Wood can be purchased at the market just down the road or Thriftway a few miles away in Welches. Please check with the Hoodland Fire Dep't for current fire regulations!

I moved to Portland in 2010 and lived in several cool neighborhoods before I moved to here, where redwood house is, and fell in love with it.
Our neighborhood has many wonderful restaurants, bars, cafes and unique shops and boutiques. We are walking distance from Hawthorne Blvd which is another cool area to explore. Beautiful Mount Tabor is a 5-minute drive away - I'm there every day with my dog!

Every aspect of this neighborhood inspires me to live Portland life to the fullest. Now I am opening my house for my potential guests to live it too. I am sure you will have priceless memories here.
