Ground floor of our lovely Victorian home. Walk to MASS MoCA, MCLA, and all the gallery and shops in downtown North Adams. Quick drive to Williamstown with its college and 2 world-class museums. There's hiking, rail trail and road biking, exploring, swimming, relaxing, art, culture, music all within easy access.
This is my home. Artful, spacious and simple, it's all about art, beauty, relaxing, friends & family.
This is a charming and cozy old Victorian. It sleeps 2 in a queen-bed bedroom and can accommodate a single person (or a cozy couple) in the small full-sized futon bedroom off the kitchen. There is a full kitchen, pantry, sun room, back porch, living room, dining room and piano room.
Guests have access to the entire space. There are 2 fireplaces but please, no fires allowed (and besides, it's summer!) There's wireless wifi but no tv. We actually designed the house to be as free of digital as possible so that the house offers time for reading, writing, conversation, music, puzzles -- you know, old-school relaxing.
Interaction with guests
I'm around either in person or via text, phone or email (I work over at MASS MoCA). My feeling is you are here to enjoy your vacation, if you need me, I'll be there, otherwise, enjoy.
Other things to note
I'd like to note, that this is an old Victorian with thin walls so you may hear me walking around upstairs. Full disclosure. But really, it's just me : )
Mellow, excited, enthusiastic and respectful. That has been my experience with Airbnb guests so far and that is what I expect to continue to experience. No smoking unless outside. Pets are allowed sometimes and only with pre-discussion. Many thanks.
I am an artist. I love mountain views, old factory towns, and cool architecture. When I first visited North Adams, I was amazed by all of the huge old houses, one after the other and then more; I actually still can't believe I own one. Our house was built in 1880 and from what we can tell (house forensics under the wallpaper we stripped : ) it was converted into a two-family back in 1938.
My partner and I love to hike, snow shoe, ski and entertain family and friends.
We also (road) bike. There is great biking up here and we know the routes. From short to long rides; flat to mountainous. We know them because we've ridden them and we can print out the routes for you.
We love art and frequent Mass MoCA, The Clark and local galleries and studios. Frog Lotus Yoga is a 5 minute drive and has an incredibly beautiful space to practice. There are parks and hairpin turns, lakes, streams and hikes. And then food, there's some great food to be eaten...
