I'm from NY originally (Buffalo, then NYC) and moved to Seattle in 2002. I didn't intend to stay here beyond my graduate studies but eventually the west coast changed me and I find it harder & harder to imagine myself moving back east. I enjoy cooking, gardening, urban adventures, mountain strolls, cycling, ... and new in 2018: hanging out with my son and managing a second home with an additional 3 air bnb rooms! I'm from a large family that is very welcoming, however, all of that family is on the east coast. Air bnb hosting is a perfect fit for me because I love meeting folks, welcoming them into my home/city/family, and being a connector (if you need to connect with someone in Seattle who does ________, just ask, i can probably hook you up). How much interaction I have with guests mostly depends on schedule (theirs & mine). I am always available by text or phone, but may not see you in person depending on my schedule. I have two co-hosts who help me with all air bnb related tasks: cleaning, maintenance, yard work, etc. You may see Carissa or Robert during your stay tidying up a room, working in the yard, or stopping by to drop off supplies. 5 things I can't live without: excellent coffee (dark roast), hot showers, good shoes, tasty food, and trees. Favorite travel destinations: I spent 3 months backpacking in Patagonia and another 3 months cycling in Europe-- those trips were, by far, my favorites. I have traveled to Costa Rica and Mexico several times, lived in Bolivia for 9 months, have passed through a lot of other places in the Americas and Europe. My favorite way to travel is for an extended period in one place, if I only have a short bit of time, I try to stay with locals as much as possible.
