Poachers Hut – a cosy private Shepherds Hut with Hot Tub & Pizza Oven. It sits on its own in its own field & if you enjoy the countryside, quietness, big skies, starry moonlit nights, wildlife, you will love it here. It has oak floors, comfy double bed, chairs, table, fridge, microwv, nespresso coffee, kettle, toaster, electric pan, airfr, woodburner, en-suite shower & toilet, Netflix TV, WIFI, Alexa. Outside a private south facing patio, table, chairs, Kadai fire pit/bbq, hot tub, pizza oven.

Lush self catering shepherd hut, the ultimate glamping experience, on the edge of the Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, sitting in the far corner of a field at Keepers Cottage on the picturesque Cardross Estate in big sky country.
Cosy cabin nights in front of the woodburner, relaxing or star gazing in the hot tub, starry skies, sizzling BBQ, roaring wood fired pizza oven, cloud watching from the hammock - and a perfect location for exploring the Trossachs and Loch Lomond and Stirlingshire - trails, an abundance of lochs and munros and wee hills to explore. Wild swimming and paddle boarding spots galore. Several local outdoor businesses - water sports, biking, gorge walking etc.
Generous welcome hamper including some home-made produce. Your very own ‘always ready’ electric Hotsprings Hot Tub with massage jets is the perfect place to relax and is a quite magical place to watch the swallows and bats or cloud or star gaze. Towels and sanitised flip flops are supplied. Starter baskets of wood, charcoal, kindling, fire lighters for the fire pit/BBQ/pizza oven/woodburner are supplied. There are also bundles of wood to buy.
There is a selection of quality coffee, tea, incl decaf, hot chocolate, condiments, marshmallows, popcorn. There are indoor and outdoor games and Alexa and a smart TV with Netflix for cosy nights in. We use eco planet friendly cleaning/bathing products and there is recycling.
We have friendly pygmy goats, cats, dog and Philip the pheasant - all of which you can hand feed and pat! Wildlife everywhere - red squirrels, ospreys, red kites, pheasants, hares, raptors, pine martens, stoats, weasels, moles, bats and swallows.
The Poachers Hut at Keepers Cottage is a romantic and pretty special outdoor boutique style cabin retreat, luxury glamping at its best. Immerse yourself in nature, the Trossachs’ stunning scenery, Scotland’s only Lake - hike, bike, wild swim, climb, explore.
Poachers Hut at Keepers Cottage has a comfortable double bed with quality mattress, bedding and soft furnishings. It has mains water and electricity, small en-suite with shower and flushing toilet, planet friendly toiletries and fluffy towels. Kitchen has eco cleaning products, tea-towels, glasses, cutlery and crockery. A cute toasty wood burner with baskets of wood and kindling.
Perfect for mini-moons, birthdays, anniversaries, and a stay makes a wonderful gift or just spoil yourself or someone special. A solo trip or couple's retreat, there will be something for you here.

Guest access
Guests have full access to the car park and big woodstore which provides safe secure storage for bikes, extra supplies for the shepherd hut, storage, games, first aid kit, mini-oven, slow cooker, panini and smoothie makers, recycling.
Guests have access to the whole field where the shepherd hut sits.
Other things to note
Poachers Hut is located on Cardross Estate which is a working estate and farm and occasionally has events (Back Doune the Rabbit Hole music festival 17-20 July 26). There are pheasant shoots nearby on a few Saturdays each year Oct-Jan. Please ask for dates if this is a concern.
- Minimum guest age: 23 years.
- Hot Tub cannot be used in high winds and strap must always be fitted.
- No fake tan or glass in the Hot Tub.
- No real candles or smoking or vaping indoors.
- Hot Tub may not be up to temp at check-in.
- Ready made pizzas only.
- Lockbox key - code/directions sent pre-arrival.
