Welcome to Fold House Cottage. Our cottage is ideally located in the small village of Herbrandston, just 12-15 minutes walk from the beautiful beach of Sandy Haven in the heart of the Pembrokeshire National Park. The cottage itself dates back over 200 years and the sitting room was originally the kitchen of the old farm house. The ceiling still has the original meat hooks in the old wooden beams. The focal point of the room is the multifuel burner and surround which has been lovingly restored.

The space
To the right of the fire place is an old doorway, now blocked off, which used to lead the farmhouse dairy. The old slate step is worn down and smooth by footsteps and the passage of time.
The brand new kitchen is designed in keeping with the cottage, whilst benefiting from all mod cons, such as induction hob, Bosch fan oven and even a dishwasher! Not to mention a Krups coffee maker, bread-maker, slow-cooker and orange juicer!
Off the kitchen there is a large pantry/storage area leading to the downstairs WC and Utility room with washing machine. The kitchen also leads to a gorgeous sunroom, facing the enclosed rear garden and the famous Pembrokeshire banks which run to the rear of the property.
Upstairs are four tastefully furnished bedrooms, two double and 2 single. The family bathroom is light and airy and has a bath and electric shower.

Sandy Haven beach, the closest of many wonderful beaches, is a beautiful beach revealing an enormous expanse of sand at low tide with plenty of rock pools. At the east side of the beach, known as Sandy Haven 'pill' it's common to see white eagrets, cormorants and kingfisher. There is now a new crossing, replacing the old stepping stones, which allows access across the waterway for 2 hours on either side of high tide. It's a perfect spot for crabbing.
We are 12-15 minute walk from the east corner of Sandy Haven beach via a field footpath which joins the Pembrokeshire coastal path. Walking along this path we regularly see foxes and a pair of buzzards, recently we watched five circling above us! You are also likely to see oystercatchers, kittiwake, gannets and chough. Maybe even see a peregrine falcon. We have a wild animal spotting log in the cottage for you to record your sightings! We love to hear about what you've seen.

Nearby are the famous villages of Marloes with its stunning, wild beach, and Dale, perfect for watersports. Little Haven is just 11 minutes away by car and has three pubs including our favourite, The Swan Inn which is super dog welcoming! Broad Haven is just a minute further by car, has a huge sandy beach at low tide and is popular with surfers and bodyboarders. A little further north along the coast is Druidstone with is spectacular beach and iconic hotel.
A 5 minute drive east out of Herbrandston is Milford Haven. Here you will find a selection of shops for your provisions, including a large Tesco as well as the newly developed Milford Waterfront. There are plenty of lovely bars and restaurants to be visited, our favourite being Martha's vineyard where you can sit on a raised sunny deck and enjoy the spectacular view across the moored yachts and their tall masts.

I'm married with two nearly grown up daughters and two definitely not grown up Spanish Water Dogs! We have been visiting and staying in West Wales since I was a child and this year finally found our very own piece of paradise in our favourite part of Pembrokeshire. We absolutely love our cottage and this part of the world and try to get here whenever it's not booked by our guests!!! We are an outdoorsy little gang. We love walking and enjoying the wildlife on this stretch of coast. Not to mention the fantastic sea kayaking and wild swimming...!
