This characterful cottage is a homely & stylish place for large families & groups of friends to stay, with an inglenook fireplace & woodburner, super comfy beds, great views of Harlech Castle, the sea, Portmeirion & Snowdon from the house & front terrace.
Harlech, home to the Steepest street in the world, is a great base for walking & the mountains, with fantastic beaches on the doorstep & adventure activities like Zip World & Coed y Brenin mountain biking centre close by. Dog & bikes welcome.
The space
This cottage has been lovingly renovated and furnished with a mix of antique and mid-century pieces in order to create a beautiful, stylish and colourful place for you to stay and relax. Downstairs there is a light and spacious sitting room with inglenook fireplace and a colourful kitchen-diner that comfortably seats 7, and 4 bedrooms (2 doubles, a twin & a single) and a bathroom upstairs.
To the rear of the house is a covered passageway, off which is a downstairs toilet with washing machine, a separate drying room with freezer and an undercover area, ideal for drying washing or parking pushchairs.
Please note the cottage is located on a steep hill, although the path from the road to the front door is on the level. However this means there are incredible views from the front terrace and all the rooms at the front of the house overlooking Harlech Castle, the sea and to the north at the end of the terrace, the mountains of central Eryri or Snowdonia, including Yr Wyddfa or Snowdon itself.
Outside, the terrace out the front is a great place to sit and eat and soak up the wonderful views and gorgeous sunsets over Porthmadog Bay. There is also a private and secluded garden out the back with garden furniture provided.
Access:
This cottage is not suitable for those with mobility limitations or those who cannot comfortably manage stairs or steps. There are a few steps within the cottage, including a step down and up to the bathroom from the landing. The stairs are wide and straight with a handrail. There is a flight of steps up to the back garden.
Children and babies are most welcome, but no stair gates are provided, so young children should be supervised at all times both inside and outside.

Housekeepers pack - cloth, sponge scourer, bin bag, compost caddy bag and dishwasher tablets, as well as washing up liquid and a tea towel
Hand soap and a loo roll provided in each bathroom
Travel cot & high chair are available on request. Note you need to bring your own cot bedding and stair gate. Please let me know if a baby is coming to stay & if you would like me to leave these things out for you
With slate floors downstairs and the original wooden floors upstairs have been lovingly restored, which bring great warmth and character to the house, house shoes or slippers are recommended, and it would be much appreciated if shoes were not worn inside the cottage.
Guest access
Guests have sole use of the house, private rear garden and front part of the garage which provides secure lockable storage for bikes, surf boards or kayaks.
Guests have use of the front terrace where a bench and table and chairs provide great views over Harlech castle, the sea beyond and the mountains of central Snowdonia to the north. Neighbours have right of access across this front terrace.
Other things to note
Dogs: One small-medium dog is welcome at No.1 on the understanding that dogs are not allowed on the furniture or upstairs, and should not be left in the house on their own at any time. Dogs should ideally sleep in the kitchen or in a crate.
If guests would like to bring a dog with them, they should check this is possible by providing the age, breed and size of the dog in their enquiry. All dogs should be checked in like guests. A £30 pet fee is chargeable per dog per booking.
It may be possible for a second dog to stay depending on their size and breed, but this would need to be discussed and agreed before a booking can be confirmed.
