A heritage house set on 5 acres of fields and woods and surrounded by a hundred acres of heritage forest. A short trail walk to a sandstone ocean beach overlooking the Strait of Georgia. Abundance of wildlife, hiking and biking.
This house has an interesting story. We moved the house by barge from Victoria to Galiano Island and landed it on a lot across the street from our property. In the photos, the other house on the barge is our only next door neighbour who also moved her house at the same time. It was early on a February morning when the barge arrived - what an adventure. As you can see, we have done a huge amount of work to lovingly restore this house, which dates back to 1912, to become a cottage retreat.
When you return from your outdoor adventures, enjoy this warm and cozy cottage with a glass of wine around the wood burning fireplace in the kitchen or the gas fireplace in the living room. Two clawfoot tubs and stained glass windows add to the relaxing atmosphere. In the morning, enjoy your cup of coffee in the sun on the front balcony in this lovely tranquil setting. Children and pets always welcome.
Guests have the full use of the house, a large sun deck, all the fields and forests that surround it. There is a large full kitchen with a wood burning fireplace.
